the dealership repair shop at spitzer dodge in homestead, florida are totally clueless. i don't even think they have certified mechanics. i have taken my dodge truck in for the SAME repair 6 times. each time it goes back they patch it up and say they drove it extensively (with no gas consumed and no mileage added) and insist that the repair was done. Well, my truck has been in he shop for the following:

-gas gauge - not registering - at the shop on june 29, 2006. -gas gauge - not registering - at the shop on july 12, 2006. -blown head gasket leaking coolant through exhaust port/coming out through tailpipe - repaired -cylinder #6 intake valve misfire - april 5, 2011 - at shop - replaced cylinder. -faulty lifters - sticking - at the shop - april 29, 2011 - at shop...replaced "ALL" lifters on right bank of engine. -rocker arm came lose / lifters sticking - on april 12,2011 - repaired... (not). -rocker arm came lose/ lifters sticking - april 19, 2011 - back at the shop. -rocker arm came lose / sticking - april 29, 2011 - and again....back at the shop. -lifters are noisy / making ticking sound - spitzer dodge towed truck to the shop. - replaced "ALL" engine lifters.

On November 27th spitzer dodges' mechanic came to my house to pick up my truck because i called in for a tow truck. He himself drove it back to the dealer/mechanic to have the noisy lifters "again" checked. He stated that he didn't hear any noise or ticking. I have a feeling that they just use Lucas Oil to patch it up because it quiets the engine. I said this because he told me that from the very beginning of all the repairs that they were trying to cut costs and that it would "end up biting them in the ass". (this is a quote!!).

I am writing this complaint to make sure that others are aware of the defaults with this truck and also to alert consumers to do research before buying any vehicle. The dealers should hire professionals and should be held responsible for not providing the service they are suppose to.

i didn't know of a recall list and never received a notice from the dealer for any problems including these.

Ram 1500 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I read what you all were saying about the engine noise. My loudest noise was the timing chain was not put in correctly, that was over 1800 dollars and still there is a noise and the dealership says its the risk pin. they said the cost to take the engine apart was enough that itwas better to leave it. The truck could go indefinately and the risk pin can be fine, or it can go tomorrow. All in all i have had more than 8000 dollars in things that have had to be repaired and re-repaired. Dodge will not be my next truck. Oh and today i found my power steering cooler leaking fluid like that was its job.

Dodge Ram Hemi knock not a tick. lakeshore Dodge in slidell Louisiana knows there is a problem tried to fix once and knock still there. Chrysler star told them to replace heads that there is a problem with them and the service manager refused to fix and said i will have to live with it. why if Chrysler told them to replace and the techs and service writer have all heard the knocking coming from the motor. this sounds like crap coming from the motor. it does affect the performance of the motor everything from fuel mileage to starting up warm up low idle to low engine power because valves are not seating in the heads properly!!!! also faulty lifters. more and more cases are now popping up on the internet about this problem and it is not only the ram with the Hemi i have read complaints with the 300c, magnums, jeep commander all with Hemis dodge solution #s k59926684,k21050787. long time customer of Dodge not no more!! let them go under crooks. especially lakeshore Dodge wont buy anything dodge including my company vehicles will lease from Chevy instead.Dodge offers lifetime warranty because they wont fix what the hell is the point of that? should not have to drive around a vehicle that sounds like that especially with such low mileage. funny the found after bumper to bumper runs out and now i have a deductible every time. all service always performed at dealer so they cant say i did something to motor. ford is looking better and Chevy Dodge to many problems with repairs guess that why they say get what you pay for dodge has proved that phrase just to let everyone know seems more cases of this in Texas and if i hear the f------ dealer say thats a Hemi for you, hell anyone have the rams that have the electrical problems touch the power windows, locks, play the radio loud and lights dim or dance with the music, was also told that's a Dodge Ram for you! many complaints but no fix, but like the dealer says you got a good warranty, what f------ good is that if they wont fix the sh*t! give the tax payers the bailout and let the crooks fall they have been f-----n us long enough!!!!!!! and i worked for ford for 8 years they wont help us with sh*t they sell so why give them my hard earned money to bail them, bail them for what still don't put money in our pockets to go buy cars from them so they are still in the same boat! nice to know service can laugh at the problems and know they exist but cant fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7 HEMI

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

Truck has a knock in engine when at idle and engine warm. D/C advised normal but have had other mechanics look at it and advise major problem with pistons plus fuel injector rails/valves. D/C refused to fix and claims while louder than most ram trucks, still normal. Sounds like a diesel vs. a gas HEMI
