Right low beam fails to light. Bulb has been replaced. Socket is good. Failure is in tipm. Appears to be a common problem in 06 to 08 Dodge trucks. Dealer charge $750 to $900 to replace and reprogram tipm unit. This is an extravagant charge for an item that should last the life of the vehicle.

The total integrated power module or fuse box on 2006 Dodge Ram has a known problem of failing. To replace faulty headlight circuit it will cost 1000 dollar because of this tipm. It has a poor design and Dodge should address this issue.

The turn signal on the vehicle began activating the wrong signal. At times the signal will not work at all. At other times it signals the opposite direction I am attempting to turn. The signal switch also controls my high beams and windshield wipers. Both of these are also affected at times by the problem. I am very concerned anyone of these issues could cause a serious accident.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

The tail light function of the trailer wiring harness stopped functioning. Still have use of brake and turn lights. This is hard to catch on a visual test since I usually check turn and brake functions. Towed for weeks before I was told of the malfunction. Therefore cannot see trailer at night. Dealership could not fix problem.

When the left turn signal is activated, immediately the right turn signal engages. The failure occurs intermittently. I've contacted the dealership and was told there is nothing they can do because the vehicle is out of warranty and manufacturer has not made a recall on my vehicle. This is extremely dangerous especially when entering the interstate.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact heard a loud grinding noise coming from the front passenger side wheel bearing while driving. In addition, when activating the right turn signal, the left turn signal would illuminate and when she activated the left turn signal, the right turn signal would illuminate. Sporadically, both turn signals would become inoperable. The dealer advised the contact that her VIN was not included in the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number: 07V038000 (suspension:front:wheel bearing ) and offered no further assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. No repairs were performed nor was the vehicle diagnosed for the failure. The current and the failure mileages were 69,579.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

  • 96,416 miles
The turn signal will intermittently malfunction, causing the right indicator to blink though the lever is in the down position which when operational should signal the left indicator. This is a serious safety concern for myself as I have had multiple instances where I'm positioned in the left turn lane attempting to execute a left turn and signaling to oncoming traffic my intentions only to have the right blinker activate and cause traffic to stop abruptly in the lane I just exited. I am not only exposing myself to a rear end collision but I am also exposing the unsuspecting driver being incorrectly signaled to the same potential fate. The inability to caution oncoming traffic of my intentions also creates a potentially hazardous situation in that my turn could startle them causing them to turn sharply or stop abruptly. Both could have detrimental impact provided the conditions are less than perfect in a state that commonly has severe winter weather.

When U turn the signals on they go the opposite way or completely go off it causes the break lights to go out as well this is a major safety issue and can result in a crash this should have been recalled along time ago why haven't you done anything I my self feel this is a major safety issue it gives everyone a false direction and results "wreck" I have had multiple incidents with this it happens frequently I have replaced bulbs and it is not the problem the problem is in the factory screw up.

Ram 1500 8-cyl

  • 50,000 miles
My 2006 Dodge Ram truck turns on the wrong turn signal, for instance if I am making a right turn and I push the stalk up, the left turn signal turns on. This is an intermittent problem and sometimes my turn signals work and sometimes they do not. I also have the related problem that I have no control over my windshield wipers. When I turn them on, they will stay on for minutes at a time on a high speed and not turn off. Other times they will only go one or two times and shut off completely while it is pouring rain.
