Driver's side turn signal intermittently does not work. Started when brake pedal was pushed. Works, then stops working when brakes are pushed and continues not to work after that. This is a safety issue and there are 100S if not 1,000S of people that have reported turn signal problems on the 2006 Dodge Ram. This is a safety issue!! please make them fix this, because they obviously have no respect for their namebrand and don't care about their customers. My 2006 Dodge Ram pick up has had intermittent problems with the wiper blades coming on, or not, slowing down or speeding up with out assistance from the operator. Last week my turn signals started to act up. I turn the left signal on, it shows up inside and out as a right turn, or nothing at all. My emergency flashers are not working either. I had to turn them on and only the right blinker came on, then everything shut down. I can not count on making a lane change safely, I can not count on my wipers working in the rain, and if I have an emergency stop, I can not use my emergency flashers.

I own a 2006 Dodge Ram quad cab 1500 4X4 that has been having repeated problems with the multi-function switch that controls the wipers and the turn signals. Several times while driving in the rain this issue has happened to were I have had my children in the truck with me and had to pull off the road because of not being able to see because of the wipers not working and in doing so drove into the median causing me to puncture the left front tire. I had to do this because I didn't want to have or cause an accident. My vehicle has been in the shop twice over this problem and it still isn't fixed. What does it take to get something done about this! there has been several, and I mean several complaints over this same part. Does it take someone being killed or seriously injured before someone is held liable. I spent several thousand dollars on this truck, along with an extended warranty, but there is no price tag for loss of life do to someone not being held accountable for their equipment. Please, we need something done to remedy this problem that millions of Dodge owners are being forced to deal with. Please don't let loss of life be the reason for a change because then it's too late.

The switch on my 2006 Dodge Ram that controls the turn signal, wipers and light dimmer does not function properly. It turns the opposite signal on that I have specified, my wipers shut off while driving and it will not allow me to dim my headlights. Driving in the rain is very difficult and turning becomes a problem becasue I never know what signal will turn on. I spoke with mechanics at a dealership who informed me that the problem is so common that the mulit function switch is now referred to as the malfunction switch.

The blinker switch on my 2006 1500 Ram doesn't work. When I flip the switch to turn right the left blinker comes on. Sometimes no blinker comes on. Also, at times, when I turn the wipers on they don't always come on and when they do come on they don't always turn off after turning them off.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the turn signals malfunctioned. When signaling to turn left, the right turn signal would illuminate instead and vice versa. The dealer was contacted and advised him to bring the vehicle in for inspection. The manufacturer was also contacted and advised the contacts that he would need to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis before they would be able to provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

My name is [xxx]and I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. After purchasing the truck I noticed that every once in a while when I pressed the turn indicator down to turn left, the right turn indicator light would turn on. This happened once or twice a day. A few weeks later this was happening everytime I drove, also the windshield wipers would only stay on low speed. I took the vehicle to a mechanic, and he "re-set" the system. Well, this worked for only a couple days. I had paid the mechanic a large sum of money to fix the problem so I could not afford to take the vehicle back. I drove around with this faulty turn indicator problem for around 6 months. This problem was such a nuisance for me, and not to mention illegal! everytime I took a left turn I would have to place my arm out the window and turn. This was such an embarrassment for me. Finally I took the Dodge Ram truck to a Dodge dealership, and they informed me that the problem was that I had a faulty "multifunction switch" and that it would cost $263 to replace. So I gladly paid the money and go it fixed due to the un-safe turn indicator problem. I have been searching the internet for this problem and found that several people have had this "turn indicator" problem, and it seems to be that Chrysler had installed faulty "multifunction switches" in their 06 Dodge Ram pickup trucks. I am asking you to please issue a recall on these faulty "multifunction switches" in the 06 Dodge Ram trucks before someone gets seriously injured or loses their life. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 had the turn signals fail. First when I told it to turn right, it blinked left. Then it stopped working. It rotates to whatever it wants randomly and usually shows an incorrect direction. I'm safer not using a turn signal than showing a left and going right. I can't use hand signals at night and most people don't understand why I'm putting my arm out the window anyway. This is a major safety issue on this vehicle. This occurs all the time now. It was intermittent (problematic for one trip) then it would fix itself for a few days. Dodge dealer says they don't know what is wrong or never heard of it.

Turn signals operate sporadically. Moving the turn signal stalk to signal a left turn can result in no flashing of the left turn signal but improper flashing of the right turn signal. Likewise when moving the turn signal stalk to signal a right turn the signal will not flash or sometimes will incorrectly signal left. This improper signal appears at both the dashboard indicator light and at the exterior front and rear turn signal lighting positions. Additionally the wiper blades have begun failing to operate when needed. When selecting an on position on the turn signal stalk the wipers will sometimes stutter across the windshield or sometimes no move at all. When the vehicle was under factory warranty the multifunction switch was replaced. This fixed the problem the first time. The vehicle is having the same problem again but is now out of warranty. Factory repair claims it will be the same replacement at owner cost. The problems happen intermittently, and can not be reproduced at will. Over time, however, they are happening more frequently.

I was attempting to make a left turn off the highway, and when I signalled for a left turn with the turn signal, the instrument cluster showed a signal for right turn. I pulled into the left turn lane, and the car which was behind me and continuing straight slowed down and refused to go by me, even though I was in the left turn lane and they had a clear path ahead. This indicated to me that the taillights were also indicating a right turn. There was no accident as a result of this, but the normal flow of traffic on the highway was disrupted. Since this incident, I have watched closely and the multifunction switch has done the same thing several times intermittently. We live near a busy highway in the country, and often when someone is slowing down to make a right turn, the traffic behind will pass on the left. If someone is actually making a left turn, but the signal is showing right, this could lead to a fatal collision. I contacted Chrysler, and they simply told me to get it fixed and hang onto the receipts in case there is a recall. I also found that 2006 Dodge 3500 pickups did have an extended warranty on the multifunction switch for this reason.
