Ram 1500 4WD 8-cyl

  • 39,000 miles
I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, purchased brand new, 40,000 miles on it now. For the past several months, I have had an increasingly frequent problem with the turn signal switch. When the turn signal is activated, sometimes nothing works at all. Sometimes the wrong signal comes on. Sometimes the hazard lights and windshield wipers don't work when the turn signal is activated. This occurs about 1 out of every 4 times. In researching this online, I am finding many other Dodge truck owners experiencing the same issues. I contacted the Dodge recall center, inquiring about possibly recalls on this and was told there are none. It is my understanding that the problem lies in the multi function switch located within the turn signal indicator and it is my opinion that with so many people reporting the same problem with fairly new vehicles, Dodge should replace the defective switch at no cost to the owner.
