Ram 1500 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

We never had a warning of any kind. We were out of town and all of the sudden the truck didn't want to shift properly. Finally it did but not before the RPMs going high. Finally shifting into proper gear then we drove home slowly and carefully. It was very bad in the middle of I-35 traffic in Austin Tx. Finally made it home.

The next day slowly drove it to a competent Transmission person we could trust. We had to stop on the way to turn off the truck and wait a few minutes until the truck could readjust it self. Started back up and drove carefully and slowly to the transmission place, it started making a awful sound before we got there. They wondered how we ever got there. We said God helped us there was no other way. Anyway there was so

much wrong with the trans that it had to be totally rebuilt.

The truck only has 72000 miles. We couldn't believe it. Since there was no previous warning of any kind. Only thing happened was the Engine Service light came on once it started acting up in Austin. Our repair guy at Oliver Brothers Transmissions in Bryan TX is a very fair and honest guy. Yes it cost a lot but anywhere else it probably would have been more. The only other problem we have had so far has been the AC went out which we repaired.

TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT OVER HEAT AND GO OUT WITH JUST 75,000 MILES ON IT. LEFT ME STRANDED OUT IN THE DESERT ON VACATION.

Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,940 miles

Super pissed. I freakin hate Dodge. I have a beautiful fully loaded truck that sucks and has been unreliable and continually costs me money. Total money pit. Didn't have any transmission issues then suddenly wouldn't go into third. Just had the transmission replaced. Now I have error codes popping up all over with O2 sensors and Hydraulic pressure. Why can't Dodge just make a good reliable vehicle.

Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 41,632 miles

The transmission on my truck went. I had it towed to the dealer thinking it would be covered under warranty. They say that since it was serviced somewhere else that they are not responsible! I said "well, don't you think it's a problem with the truck when the transmission temperature gauge doesn't show that you are burning your transmission up"? The service manager didn't know what to say. So they want to charge me $4400 to rebuild the transmission.

I am gonna buy a salvage tranny and put it in myself then get rid of the truck. This is about one out of maybe twenty things that have gone wrong with this truck. I even started a facebook group for mad dodge/chrysler owners, dodge ram trucks are garbage.
