The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 megacab. While driving approximately 65 mph the steering wheel began to turn very easily but the vehicle would barely change direction. The vehicle was pulled over and towed to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the passenger side tie rod fractured. The vehicle was repaired. Prior to the failure he was informed by an authorized dealer that his vehicle was not included in the recall NHTSA campaign id number 09E001000, steering:linkages. The failure mileage was 97,804 and the current mileage was 98,100.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500. She received recall notice number 09E001000 (steering:linkages), but the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for repairs. While driving the steering linkage damper and the tie rod fractured, which caused her to lose vehicle control. Consequently she crashed into a lawn and onto the porch. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for repairs. She was advised by the manufacturer that because she had not the linkage replaced according to the recall, they would not provide any assistance. The current mileage was approximately 84,000. The failure mileage was approximately 83,500.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact states that when he switches the turn signal to the left the right turn signal comes on. However if the right turn signal is turned on then both left and right turn signals will switch on at the same time. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the tepim module needed to be replaced. He is still experiencing the failure. The contact did not notice any difference beforehand. The current mileage is 12000 and the failure mileage was 75000. Updated 12/01/10. The consumer stated the steering linkages were replaced under recall. However, as he was backing up to a trailer, it snapped in two. Updated 12/14/10
