The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500. While driving approximately 45 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and resumed driving to his residence. In addition, each time the vehicle drove over a bump, the front end shook violently and the tires wobbled. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, there was a loud thump heard from the rear of the vehicle. The contact then noticed that the spare tire had fallen from the vehicle and into oncoming traffic. The contact was concerned because of the crash risk involved for other drivers. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the spare tire cable harness needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 228,000.
