The drivetrain had to be replaced because the steering became difficult to drive. I had to have an alignment of the wheels/tires. It was very costly and unsafe to drive.

Stratus LX 4.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,900 miles

This has been a constant problem with the Dodge Stratus 2.4L engine and Chrysler refuses to put out a recall notice. I spoke with our local Dodge mechanic and he said they are repairing this problem on a regular basis. I then spoke to three other repair shops in the area and all said this has been an ongoing problem with the 2.4L engines on the Stratus with first the oil leak and then the engine seizing up.

I called Dodge Corporation and nothing can be done as no recalls have been made to date.
