This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
On June 13, 2025 my 2022 Ford Bronco and was involved in a serious collision in which the airbags did not deploy, the emergency braking and forward collision warning did not activate either. The second vehicle was t-boned at an estimated speed at the point of impact was 45mph. Both vehicles were a total loss. The Bronco suffered a bent frame and the passenger door would not open. The repair estimate was in excess of $36,000. I have reported the concern to Ford Motor Company under case number CXH-04933824-C1C3G9. At the time of the accident, there were no open recalls, warnings or notifications affecting the airbags or other safety systems. The vehicle was as-delivered by Ford from the factory with all regular service conducted by the local Ford dealership.
During heavy rains, I noticed some water leaking through the A pillar where the air bag is housed. I am concerned that the water may damage the air bag overtime. More importantly, if the air bags are deployed in low temperature (when the water becomes ice), it may create great safety problems.
Air bag compartment on front passenger window pillar takes in water everytime it rains. Water drains from air bag compartment when I make a turn. Air bag may become compromised and may air bag module may eventually stop working due to water damage and/or render the airbag useless in case of a crash resulting in serious injury or even death. I have taken a video of water actually coming out of airbag compartment and appears to be a persistent problem in other broncos in forums like https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/mic-2-0-water-leak-a-pillar-passenger-airbag-cover.27065/ The vehicle has not been inspected for that issue yet and in the process of setting up an appointment but Ford Country dealership in Henderson, Nevada is aware of it. Additionally, I contacted Ford.com and was given a case# 40741781. There have been no warning lamps or messages as of yet.
Upon delivery of my 2022 Ford Bronco Outer Banks from the dealer, I noticed the airbag case near roof on front passenger was cut/filed down to get the bolt secured on the end piece. The driver-??s side is not installed in his manner. Upon questioning the dealership when I picked up my Bronco, I was told -??You should be happy that you got your order! Don-??t worry about an imperfection!!!!-?? I am attaching pictures of the front airbag cases on both sides.
