Ford has a battery that corrodes while driving and can shut off car. This is dangerous. On top of that, they had to extend warranty on drivers seat belt and fuel injector but will only allow those to be replaced once they break. My car is unsafe to drive. Imagine, car shuts off and seat belt breaks. This is dangerous.
The contact's daughter-in-law owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the message "Rear belt monitor fault - Service Required' was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear-row seat belt harnesses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the warranty had expired. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had an extended warranty; however, the repair was not covered under the warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
I received an error message from the car that stated "Restraints Indicator Lamp Warning". This issue was for the passenger side seat and made the car turn off the air bag as it couldn't confirm the seat belt was being used even though it was. Ford stated this issue would not be covered as the vehicle only has a 5 year or 60,000 mile safety coverage. After some research on Reddit, it appears this may be a bigger issue that is impacting the Bronco Sport and the Maverick.
