the airbag warning is supposed to go on if you have an underweight passenger in the front seat or it is malfunctioning. I thought my purse set off the warning, but then my mom sat in the seat and the light turned and stayed on.
That made me very nervous, fearing that if I was involved in a front end accident the passenger would not be afFORDed the extra protection of an air bag deployment.
Update from Feb 21, 2017: THERE IS A RECALL BUT IT DOES NOT OFFICIALLY INCLUDE MY CAR, YEAR, AND MODEL. I TOLD THE FORD REP THAT THE RECALL SHOULD BE WIDEN TO INCLUDE OTHER YEARS AND MODELS BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY IT AFFECTED MY CAR. HIS RESPONSE WELL THE DEALER HAS TO LOOK AT IT? MEANWHILE HOW MANY OTHER CARS AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS HAVE TO OCCUR BEFORE A CAR SYSTEM OR COMPONENTS ARE PLACED ON AN "OFFICIAL" RECALL?
