Steering box bolts for a 1999 Ford E-150 broke off. Prior to this happening there was noise coming from the area. Especially when shifting in to park and drive. When the bolts finally broke off all three (3), the van could not be steered safely. In fact could not steer at all as I was about to get on the highway after parking the van. This would have cause serious injury or death to self or the public. Two mechanics said the bolts breaking off should have never happened. It is taking me for ever to find the bolts as all the auto parts stores don't have them nor most of the Ford Dealer parts departments. Not even the junk have them yards These metal bolts must be strong or specialized. Plus they very expensive. $40 each! And can't be just any bolts from a parts store. Why are we subjected to this?
