I have been a loyal Ford customer since I first purchased a 1959 Ford Galaxy in 1966. In 2011 I purchased a Ford F250 Diesel. I loved this vehicle it was everything that I could want. Then with the warranty expired I had a incident on August 8th of 2014 where with very little warning the engine quit.
I was in the middle of an intersection. I came close to getting hit by a number of cars. Reason I found out after having it towed to a dealership, a high exhaust temp senor, EGT, sent a false signal to the computer. I was charged for the repair to the tune of $344.19. I was without a vehicle for two days.. Then another sensor in the DEF tank rendered the vehicle inoperative in December of 2014.
This past Monday the 18th, once again the vehicle died. This time I had a trailer attached. It happened to quit blocking an emergency entrance to a hospital. Again I had to have it towed which cost me $60. Same issue. I have since found out that there is a recall related to this issue. I decided that three sensor failures is not tolerable. I have traded the 250 in on a 150. I still love the 250 series and would have purchased another, but I can no longer trust the engines.
This is a huge accident and lawsuit just waiting to happen. If this vehicle issue were to happen on a crowded and fast moving highway, the consequences could be disastrous for the owner of the truck and others around them. I am hoping that the new F150 will fill my needs, if not I may be forced to entertain another provider.
Please take this in the spirit in which it is written. This is a dangerous vehicle and I am warning as many people who own a 250 or intend to purchase one of this potential hazard. My son owns one and I am encouraging him to get rid of it before something happens to his family.
