The contact owns a 1995 Ford E-350. While driving at 40 mph, the vehicle failed to decelerate. After the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 1995 Ford E-350. The vehicle caught fire while it was parked. The vehicle had not been driven in approximately two weeks before the fire occurred. A police report was filed. The fire department extinguished the fire and stated that it originated under the hood. The vehicle is currently parked in the contact's driveway. Through research, he discovered a recall for that year, make, and model vehicle for the same vehicle speed control failure. He also found a recall on the parking brake cable wiring to the fuel line. The manufacturer stated that his VIN was not included in either recall; therefore, they were not responsible for the fire. The recall numbers were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 340,000.

The dealer stated that the part would be unavailable until February of 2008. The contact stated that the wait time was unacceptable. There had been no failure to date. Vehicle is on its third transmission. Owner states that the torque converter is chewing the gears up and locks the vehicle up. Engine surges/bucks at 42 to 55 mph in overdrive.
