I am writing this letter to express my extreme displeasure with two Ford dealerships, BJ Ford in Liberty, TX and Friendly Ford in Crosby, TX. During June - August 2019 time frame, I took my Ford F-350 to their "Service Departments" to have them fix what is referred to as the "Death Wobble, where the front end of the vehicle would sometimes shakes violently" while driving at speeds around 65 MPH or above while simultaneously passing over uneven pavement or small bumps on the road surface.

In their attempts at solving this problem, their remedies ranged from, adjusting (lowering) the air pressure in the front tires, to charging me $3,758.95 in labor and repair parts on Aug 5, 2019 that did not fix the problem. After the expensive repairs were made to this vehicle, I experienced the last Death Wobble while driving with my grandson in this vehicle on Aug 9, 2019. Fed up with the danger this problem presented and coupled with their incompetence, I took it back to Friendly Ford service department and explained to them that it was the worst of the numerous Death Wobble incidents to date. On Aug 13, 2019, the service representative told me it would cost an additional $1,000.00 to fix the problem. Now I was left thinking, "didn't I just pay thousands of dollars to fix the Death Wobble problem and now I am being told they can fix it for another $1,000.00?". After complaining to them about another $1,000.00 to fix the problem, the service representative said he had spoken with the service manager and they offered to fix it for only the cost of the repair parts which was about $400.00.

The failure to solve this problem by these two dealerships has left me with mental anguish and possible post-traumatic stress disorder and afraid to drive this vehicle any further. If this problem is not repaired correctly it could have cause serious injury or death to the occupants riding in this vehicle and or others nearby. Having lost confidence in their ability to fix the problem and the running expense it was costing me, I told him that I would trade it in for a new vehicle. On Aug 14, 2019, I traded my 2014 F-350 for a new F-150 at Friendly Ford. I grew up in a loyal Ford family as a child. Until the problem I encountered with this F-350, I have own and brought many Ford vehicles for my spouse, children, grandchildren and myself since 1970, without having any major problems.

Since this problem may reoccur when the next owner of this vehicle drives it, I have filed a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reporting my experiences with this vehicle just in case someone is injured because repairs weren't properly made by Ford. In addition, I asked Ford Motor to refund my money that I paid for this Death Wobble repairs. After my complaint to Ford Motors, they said that they could only refund me about 1/3 of the cost since I no longer own this vehicle. On Oct 21, 2019, I received a check in the amount of $1,303.00 from the Friendly Ford Dealership of Crosby, TX.
