EcoSport Titanium 1.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Purchased my 2018 Ford Ecosport February 2020 with 33,000 miles. Within 4 months of driving it the same year, I noticed my transmission was hesitating and jerking OUT OF NOWHERE one day. Over a few days it got worse and more violent. I took it to a Ford dealer. They told me the transmission needed to be replaced completely. I WAS SO SHOCKED. This car was supposed to practically be new. MAJOR RED FLAG. I continued on anyway because it was under warranty and thought I would surely be driving fine for miles to come after this. Long story short... I was wrong. (TRANS WAS REPLACED BUT VERY HARD TO COME BY DURING HEIGHT OF THE PANDEMIC ... I WAITED 7 MONTHS .. NEW TRANS INSTALLED JANUARY 2021)

I have more horror stories to report on this vehicle. I did not know all the issues this model ford had despite doing my research. There was not a lot of data points at my original time of purchase in 2020 ... two years later I'm seeing all the information I wish I knew then :( ...

PLEASE SHARE IF YOU OWN THIS CAR!! IT IS A PIECE OF S*** AND A COMPLETE LIABILITY!

EcoSport Titanium 1.0L

PART 2** BELOW WAS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE

Purchased my 2018 Ford Ecosport February 2020 with 33,000 miles. Within 4 months of driving it the same year, I noticed my transmission was hesitating and jerking OUT OF NOWHERE one day. Over a few days it got worse and more violent. I took it to a Ford dealer. They told me the transmission needed to be replaced completely. I WAS SO SHOCKED. This car was supposed to practically be new. MAJOR RED FLAG. I continued on anyway because it was under warranty and thought I would surely be driving fine for miles to come after this... I was wrong. (TRANS WAS REPLACED BUT IT'S VERY HARD TO COME BY DURING HEIGHT OF THE PANDEMIC... I WAITED 7 MONTHS... NEW TRANS INSTALLED JANUARY 2021.)

OK ... HERE IS PART 2 TO MY HORROR STORY.

As you've read above I had my transmission replaced under manufacturer 60,000 mile warranty JANUARY 2021 FREE OF CHARGE. I took the car home... it drive good as new for about 6 months and THE ORIGINAL ISSUE STARTED TO OCCUR AGAIN!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!! I was distorted. All I could think was HOW SWAY?!... HOW?" ... Took it back to Ford except this time I was literally A THREAD out of warranty @ 62,000 miles... SMH... Ford gave me the news transmission shot & needed replacement AGAIN... totaling $5000.

I simply could not afford it.

EcoSport

  • Automatic transmission

I bought the Ford Ecosport brand new, I believe less than a 100 miles in 2018. In 2019 of February, mind you bought my car in August 2018, my car star going hot, had to be towed to the nearest Ford service Department, cooling bottle was leaking exhaust burned a hole in the tube, bypass tube had to be replaced - that was #1.

#2 12/27/2019 debris was getting in the oil, transmission had to be flushed or something, still another problem

#3 6/30/2020 The engine had to be replaced (Ford knew about engine problems, but I didn't)

#4 10/1/2020 The powertrain control module had to be reset.

Way to much for a brand new car, the 4th problem I had to use my extended warranty and pay deductible. I'm not happy with the Ecosport right now, too many issues to be a brand new car.
