On [XXX] I was driving on [XXX] towards Ashville, NC at 65 mph. My oil pressure light came on. Within thirty seconds my car had decelerated and come to a complete stop. I was able to roll onto the shoulder. There was no warning. The light had never come on before. I had just had my oil changed the month before. My car was eventually towed to Ken Wilson Ford in Canton, NC. I was told it was the oil tensioner arm and the engine needed to be replace. It is still there. Thankfully there is a dedicated service member that worked for more than eight weeks to get authorization for a rental car. I do not know how long they will allow me to keep that; without it I do not have transportation to and from work. I have talked to Ford Service and they have very concern about my situation. I was told on [XXX] that the parts were not expected until late 2024. Ford has know about this problem for years. It is just recently been declared an official recall. Suddenly there are parts available when they have been fixing this problem at the dealerships since 2018. I know there have been accidents related to this recall. In my case I was lucky there was no one in the lane next to me and I was able to coast to the shoulder. I have still not received a recall letter. The engine oil pump belt tensioner is damaged, which caused me to be unable to drive the car and have difficulty braking. There is a recall for this part and no available repair.
The low oil pressure light came on and within minutes the engine completely stalled and multiple check engine codes came up. Lost all control of the vehicle. It is currently at the dealer and needs a whole new engine. It has been inspected by the technicians at the dealership. This all happened within minutes of the light coming on. The technician stated the oil pump belt was damaged and came apart resulting in a whole new engine being needed. Ford sent the recall notice in Feb 2024 and the part is still not available. They are refusing to pay for the new engine up front.
I have had nothing but problems with this car. It only had 36 miles on the car & dealership (Frederick Ford, Seaford de) classified it as used. The car wouldn-??t start, had to call roadside assistance. After waiting the car decided to start. Going down road car kept cutting off & on and losing power. Everyone it lost power I had to try and pull over. What if there was nowhere to pull over and it just cut off in the road"!?! The dealership has been a total nightmare. I tried to exchange car & the sales manager was [XXX]. And was yelling he wouldn-??t be able to sell a messed up vehicle. After complaining to Ford all I got was an extensive warranty with free oil changes. That-??s it. I have records of all my car problems. My car has only a little over 15,000 miles cause I scared of driving it. I go back and forth to work that-??s about it. I have 9 times my car has messed up from 04/2021-to 10/2022. 1x -[XXX] 3x- [XXX] 4x- [XXX] 1x- [XXX] Now There a recall on a car I haven-??t even driven over 15,000 miles?!?!" This is the second time this has happened resulting in loss of my reliable transportation to/work, major repair while still in warrenty, WITHOUT vehicle loaner, rental or replacement during that time. I was again at the top of a steep hill- this time heading onto the highway- but midway into one of the busiest intersections in town. I heard a loud sound followed by mechanical spinning/winding when I try to accelerate on the green light. When I tried to drive or remove my food from the break, my car went backward down the hill and into oncoming traffic. Restarting my car didn-??t help as park and drive didn-??t engage. The only control I now had was the steering wheel and brake system. There were no warning signs before, during or after the ordeal. I-??m not certain my lighting system worked on the outside of my vehicle as cars continued to approach the line I was in to turn left despite my hazard lights. My lights and electrical system did however work internally. I called Ford-??s roadside helpline and told them I was trapped on a hill with limited control, with piles of cars behind me and I was afraid my brakes were also at risk of failing. I emphasized the emergency I was in. However, Ford Roadside was only allowed to dispatched a tow truck from 73 minutes away because the company located just 10 minutes away was not in contract with them. I also called the police to assist with traffic build up behind me as I was blocking traffic and in serious danger because I couldn-??t exit the car without it rolling. I also called the out of contract tow company and paid the $200 out of pocket. I spent over an hour holding my foot on the break before help arrived.

The engine oil pump malfunctioned and Astro Ford in Diberville refused to fix it or replace it. They tried to sell me another car. He even said he knew exactly what it was before looking at my car. He said he has seen it alot. I had 66053 miles on it. NO problems or issues leading up to engine blowing.

I brought a Ford Ecosport S from Auction Direct on or about February 7, 2024, Raleigh NC. In the mist of purchasing, they informed me there is a recall on this vehicle. I've since then been trying to get my vehicle fix. It's started to make noise and rub and I don't want the problem to get worst. I have brought the part through Capital Ford, Raleigh NC, but they said I need the recall letter in order for them to fix it. The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and contacted her son. The contact's son inspected the oil pump and oil filter but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact then drove to the residence; however, while attempting to pull into the driveway, the power steering and the brakes failed to function as needed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer advised the contact to repair the vehicle at her own expense, and she might be reimbursed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
The engine of my Ford 2021 Ecosport seized at 73k miles while driving - accelerating from a stoplight. The dealership has diagnosed it as a cracked cylinder head and quoted $8,000 to fix. The dealership had taken no responsibility for faulty parts/design. These engines are not safe and should not be on the road. Fors has since issued a recall for the oil pump, but the damage to my vehicle has already been done.
Was made aware of this recall on this car. Was told no remedy not available. Not my car has suffered the effects of it loss of oil pressure and don-??t have any transportation because of it and says they won-??t have it fixed until second quarter 2025 nothing offered to get me from point a or b
Engine failure -- on 12/2/23 while driving the vehicle it shut off less than 2 minutes after I heard what sounded like a belt breakage on the car. The car would not start again. My safety was put at risk because I was driving on a busy street and the speed limit was 50mph. 1 day prior, the car slowed to about 40 mph or less after the engine light came on Then the wrench icon came on. I could not drive on the highway so I took the side streets to and from work. I started getting oil pressure warnings about 2 weeks prior but I just had my oil change done in October 2023. I did not know that I was getting warning messages until I looked at the FordPass app on 12/2/23 and saw several messages starting from 10/6/23 at 9:15am. The first message states " powertrain malfunction/reduced power" and another received on 10/6/23 at 11:48am states "Service Engine Soon Warning - The engine control system has detected that the turbocharger/supercharger is outputting lower boost then expected. Diesel equipped vehicles may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power." Another on 11/28/23 states "Charge System Fault Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault". 11/29 1:09pm Service Engine Soon The powertrain control system has detected the system power supply voltage is lower than desired". Plus several other messages. I had the car towed to the Ford Dealership in Victorville and was told by the Service Advisor that the engine and turbo needs to be replaced. She said that the oil pump drive belt broke. I asked how this happens and she said the tech does not know but he does know that the turbo is consequential damage due to drive belt damage. I have also noticed that the gas mileage has significantly decreased over the past year or so. Also the brakes squeak when I put the car in reverse - this happened the day I drove the car off of the lot and the Ford rep said it was no big deal. There are other minor issues also.
While driving on the highway a -??Low Engine Oil Pressure-?? came up on the screen repeatedly. We immediately pulled off the highway before the vehicle started becoming jerky/shaky while running. We attempted to add oil thinking that might be issue but when we went to run the car again it became harder to start up. The car was towed to a nearby mechanic shop where the diagnostic assessment came back saying that the oil pump is broken. The vehicle could not be repaired at their shop at needed to be re-towed specifically to a Ford dealership. The representative did tell us that this issue has been popping up more and more with ford ecosports. Had we continued to run the car any longer could have resulted in serious damage and ultimately failure of the engine, which could have had severe consequence such as losing control and crashing. Prior to the warning coming on there was zero indication that something may have been wrong- I drive quite a lot for work and throughout the week everything felt normal.
A low engine oil pressure notification popped up on my screen while driving on the interstate and then my car slowly stopped letting me accelerate over 65 mph. I had to get to the nearest exist because the car felt as if it was losing power. The car is now at a dealership waiting to be checked out. Nothing showed before this message and it came suddenly on Tuesday 12.12.23
Several times now my engine has shut off while driving and in the middle of coming to a stop. Luckily my breaks still worked with the vehicle shut down. I'd have to put in park and manually restart the vehicle to continue driving. This is something that puts myself and others on the road at risk.
