The transmission has failed and was replaced, but the replacement engine has also been recalled and replaced with another recalled engine. Additionally, the tires and various electrical sensors continue to malfunction, the brake lights and sockets are persistently failing, and the front suspension along with wheel bearings require replacement. The car is unsafe to drive, vibrates excessively, and produces loud noises while in motion. I am concerned for my safety and seek assistance in resolving this issue.
I was driving my vehicle and a loud clunking noise came from the engine, then a flashing engine oil pressure low signal came on the dashboard, the car wouldn-??t go over 45 mph and the brake was hard. I had the car towed to the dealership and was told it needs a new engine due to the recall and it would take months to have it fix because there-??s no parts but before they can fix my car they have to fix the one that-??s been sitting I their lot for almost 3 months. I was told maybe we can help you get into another car. I went to the dealer and I was told there is nothing they can do and that my car will be sitting in their lot for many months. I called Ford customer service and I was told that the dealership has not dismantled my vehicle yet and order parts to fix it and that there is a back order on parts to fix the issue. I don-??t have money to rent a car and I need my vehicle to go to my doctors appointment, take my husband to work. I don-??t have good credit and because the I owe too much money on the car they won-??t help me. I-??m very stressed out about this situation.
Purchased the 2021 Ford EcoSport from Courtesy Ford (new), where I have the regularly serviced the vehicle. However, my ownership experience has been marked by repeated mechanical failures that have escalated to the point where, after only three years of ownership, I am being asked to replace the transmission-?"a repair I believe is both premature and unjustified given the circumstances outlined below. Timeline of Issues and Repairs: July 17, 2023: First experienced significant engine performance problems, particularly with the Auto Start feature malfunctioning, which led to the engine stalling while driving. Despite multiple tests, these issues persisted. Eventually, the engine was replaced, but I continued to experience jerking and misfiring after the replacement. October 2023 -?" January 2024: Despite having the engine replaced, the car began showing worsening jerking and misfiring, especially at higher speeds (60-65 mph or above). February 2024: During routine maintenance, I was informed that a catalytic converter needed replacement due to damage caused by the engine misfiring. I also learned that the starter motors were not replaced during the engine swap, despite it being common to get a tune up at about 80,000 and expecting thorough work after a engine replacement (Is that too much to ask) also being that I get ALL repairs and maintenance done here just for the service -??ADVISOR-?? to tell me you were been supposed to get a tune up, hysterical October 2024 -?" January 2025: The engine started losing power and struggling to rev, similar to before the new engine and catalytic converter replacement. After two weeks, I received a $3500 estimate for starters, coils, plugs, a coolant flush, and code P0128. After waiting for recall plans and assistance, I was informed that the technicians had added the two coils and plugs they initially had on the $3500 estimate and said after test driving it w/ those, they see that a new transmission is needed for $7500.
A thud then a minor vibration no computer warning strong smell of burning oil analog temp gauge going pass the 1/2 point. Had car serviced for this told by dealer no problem with water system. Driving home from dealer analog gauge at 1/2 point just a 2 miles from dealer. Other outstanding recall not addressed in a timely manner over 1 year no information no letter just your website to tell me about that one.
Was driving the vehicle going approximately 35-40 miles per hour. Lost all power to the vehicle, no ability to steer or control the vehicle. Once vehicle stopped and after additional inspection at the Ford dealership was informed vehicle had experienced engine failure. First was told it occurred under current belt recall, later told engine failure occurred because of coolant leaking into oil. I was told it is a know problem and recall issue for Ford Escapes and other models with same EcoBoot engines, but that for the EcoSport it has not been recognized as a problem by Ford. Was told that I would need to pay $8816.38 to replace engine. The vehicle had approximately 9600 miles at time of engine failure. I contacted Ford and was told the vehicle was 1-3months outside of buyback timeframes. I was told to take the vehicle to another dealership and they would take care of everything, that has yet to happen.
Vehicle engine stalled while driving on interstate highway, and it went into limb mode. Vehicle seized and was unresponsive and unable to move. It was incredibly hazardous. Vehicle was towed to the nearest Ford dealership. To date, dealership has not provided a rental vehicle and is unresponsive to recall assistance.
Engine failure at 9,667 miles. Coolant leaked into engine per ford. Ford stated known issue with escapes, hasn-??t been recalled for escosports-??will cost $10k to repair.
Was driving vehicle and lost power. Had vehicle towed to Ford dealership. Received email stating vehicle experienced engine failure. Also received a recall attachment and told the engine and turbo buster needed replaced. Was told it would be covered under warranty. Next day received call from dealership stating there were not going to cover engine under recall and I would need to pay almost $9,000 for a new engine. The vehicle is a 2021 ford ecosport with under 10,000 miles. When I contacted ford corp, they told me varied stories. First rep. Acknowledge the recall and then said it was up to the dealership to honor it. Second time I called ford corp. the rep said that there was no fix and only a work around and that my paying for the engine replacement was a work around the dealerships had come up with. When I reached back out to the dealership, they told me they had spoken with ford and was instructed to complete more diagnostics, which would cost me out of pocket for the diagnostics approximately $1400. I contacted another dealership and was told it would be two month before they could even look at it, due to the number of vehicles currently at their dealership waiting for engine replacements. I contacted ford corp again and was told there was a buy back option. I have just been waiting, when I spoke with the rep in the buyback department (9/25/24) she said it would be another 5 days and she would call me again. I asked about rental vehicles, she said that was up to the dealerships or that I could use a rental company like enterprise. I let her know that to rent a vehicle until the first quarter of 2025, when ford is supposed to have a fix for the vehicle would cost me close to, if not over $18,000 in rental fees. She said if she heard of ford starting a program to reimburse rental fees she would let me know. I asked if she would document the expected rental notes in the case.
ENGINE OIL PUMP DRIVE BELT TENSIONER ARM FRACTURED My vehicle has been in the service department since June 30st, following a breakdown during a trip from Odessa, Texas to California. The vehicle malfunctioned in California, approximately a 24-hour drive from our home. Upon investigation, I learned that the part responsible for the breakdown was already subject to a recall. Despite waiting for several days at a hotel near the dealership, I was not provided with a long-term rental. Instead, I was given a Lyft to the nearest airport to continue my trip. I also had to cover the costs of a rental car to return to Texas. Additionally, the faulty part has no estimated delivery date, leaving the vehicle unrepaired for an indefinite period. I foresee potential issues when it comes time to retrieve the vehicle, given the distance involved. Given the extended downtime and the out-of-pocket costs incurred, what are my options for resolving this situation, including rental reimbursement, vehicle pickup, or any other possible recourse?
I started having issues with my 2021 Ford Ecosport the last week of December 2023. My engine completely stalled out [XXX]. I discovered that there was a recall (23s64) on my vehicle and immediately took my car into Elk Grove Ford for recall repairs 1/2/24. I was told that I was too early for the recall and would have to wait between April and August of 2024 for repairs. Ford would not cover the cost of my first few months in a rental due to the "recall being too early" even though my car has been undrivable due to the recall. Now here we are in September, and I am now being told I have to wait for repairs "the first quarter of 2025" meaning Elk Grove Ford would have had my car for over 1 year. This is ridiculous. I have a car note and insurance that I am still responsible for even though I do not have possession of my car, and it is undrivable. I am being told that Ford cannot do anything besides wait for parts which is insane. I was told by service provider Mike at Elk Grove Ford that they have over 20 cars just at their location for the same recall and they are just holding everyone's vehicles until next year! I am a [XXX], and this has been so stressful to all of us. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2021 Ford EcoSport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 15 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed due to parts not being available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
July 12 my car overheated and shut down in the middle of the highway with no prior indication that there was a problem with my engine. I took it to the dealer the service dept told me it was due to the recall. Then proceeded to tell me that it-??s from the cracked cylinder. Upon researching I found out that faulty part can cause over heating and cause cracks. They are currently saying that they aren-??t responsible when the service tech told me it was a manufactured defect.
Driving on hwy car states oil pressure low. Car decelerated from 70m to 40m instantly. Made a clanking noise pulled over to check and would not restart.
Ford is stating a parts will not be available until early 2025. I almost lost my light driving last night on the highway. The car started slowing down, and making a noise and then started shaking out the blue on the highway and the engine was making a lot of noise. Thank goodness I was able to maneuver my car and not strike a concrete barrier or another vehicle, but I had to pay $200 to tow my car home and missed my shift for work. The Low Engine Oil Pressure alert came up on my dashboard, which is related to recall; Campaign: 23S64/23V905. This recall states the vehicle is safe to drive which is a lie. I am still financing this car and it is undriveable. Ford MUST supply a loaner vehicle until the parts come in and/or pay for all Uber/Lyft, grocery delivery fees etc as no one can wait a whole year for parts to come in for Ford not making a safe vehicle in the first place. I also have video of how loud my engine is.
I bought the vehicle six months ago and Ford will not complete the recall: Campaign/NHTSA# 23S64/23V905 Issue Date 2024-01-04 Description On your vehicle, it may be possible for the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm to fracture, and separate from the tensioner backing plate, andor the oil pump drive belt material may degrade and lose teeth, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure. Safety Risk A loss of engine oil pressure can result in engine damage andor seizure, which can result in a loss of motive power and a loss of the mechanical vacuum pump required to provide power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy Ford Motor Company is working closely with its suppliers to produce parts for this repair. When parts become available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge parts and labor. Parts are anticipated to be available 2ND quarter of 2024.
I brought a 2021 Ford Ecosport from Auto Direct in NC, February 2024( was not told about recall until after I signed the contract) and tried to fix the recall on the vehicle when purchased. I called Capital Ford dealership and was told they could not fix the recall until I got the letter. Presently, the vehicle is not working, the part of the recall has went out. It a big frustration issues because I have to keep making a monthly payments while my vehicle is sitting waiting for the manufacturer to decide to fix it. I would like to get out of this vehicle. I would like for the manufacturer to pay off my car so I can purchase another one. I need help.
