This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
In my 2000 F-150 supercab pick-up, which has four doors and seating for six (three in the back seat), lack of rear head restraints, coupled with a very low rear seat back height and the very close proximity of the rear window (glass) to occupants' heads means that serious injury may occur should the vehicle be hit from behind by another vehicle. Occupants' heads should be protected by head restraints from contacting the glass. The vehicle manufacturer should be compelled to retro-fit head restraints that it has chosen to supply on 2001 supercrew models of this same pick-up, or should supply owner retro-fittable head restraints for the rear seat.
