There is no reason for this frame to be rusted through. Vehicles last way longer than this. Very poor craftsmanship.

2006 Ford F150, 4 door PU purchased new and kept in garage first 2-3 years. Frame almost completely rusted into and no longer safe to drive. So now I have a truck with a book value of $9,000.00 that is now worthless. Truck is not even safe to put upon a rack to raise to work on. Large amount of body rust which is usually expected but not the main frame to be rusted into. Even the two rails going across the under side of the truck bed were rusted into. Inside of truck bed has rusted through and now has a large hole inside the bed. Other rusted areas under door panels.

I contacted Ford Motor Company in Michigan but they offered no assistance except to tell me to take it to a Ford Dealership for them to inspect which I did. They also said truck was not safe to be on the road.

Without a doubt the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned.

frame rusted excessively, cracked

2006 F150 King Ranch mint with 108,000 miles in a heated garage for all miles. The cab corners are rusted as well as sill plates by doors. The cut out existing rust to find a rubber hose coming down both rear pillars from the moon roof, draining water from it into the cab corners with no exit holes allowing water to drain, only to rust from inside out. Ford says, well nothing they will do, but it should have had hose long enough to exit thru the inside F cab corners then would not have rusted out at all, totally a manufacturing defect or an intentional defect to pre rust out vehicle.

I can't believe that Ford motor company would allow these trucks to continue being used ! I would not want my company name attached to such a crappy vehicle :( Why is it that Toyota saw a problem and was able to fix it with no questions asked and Ford ignores us. I will NEVER buy another Ford, I will go with a company that cares for my safety ! This rust exposed itself when I went for an inspection and I'm furious that I can no longer drive a Truck that I paid for because of bad engineering :(

This report is for my father in-law's 2006 F-150. He recently took his truck in for annual NYS state inspection and it was found that the frame was rotted and cracked where the frame comes down under the cab next to the catalytic converters. This is complete bull sh*t if you ask me, I am a professional collision technician so I see 100's of vehicles a year so I know what i am looking at. The frame on this truck is EXCESSIVELY rusted. The truck has only ~47,000 miles on it. Now I know we are in upstate NY where rust is inevitable but this is not acceptable and Ford needs to do something about this issue, as it is not a one or two unit scenario. Toyota had a similar issue with Tacoma's and the first gen Tundra's and they did and still are taking care of the issue as should Ford!!!! I will most likely be replacing the frame on this truck for him because shelling out 10k plus is far more reasonable than 50k plus for the equivalent truck on the lot today, and he SURE as hell will not be purchasing another Ford vehicle EVER!!! Especially the new aluminum F-150 as they are pure junk, it is marketed as a more durable body but I have news for everyone, THEY ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!! In closing i hope this helps people, and as with anything if you see something say something. The only way things like this will be taken care of is if people report it.
