I was sitting in a fast food line waiting to place order. The truck was running and my right foot was on the brake. (I am a one foot driver.)the truck began to inch forward. I pressed on the brake and the engine began to accelerate. I pressed hard on the brake and the rear wheels began to spin. I slammed the gear shift into park and cut the engine off. I re-started the engine and was able to pull the truck out of the line. After re-starting the engine a couple more times I was able to drive the truck home. This occurred on October 14, 2016. I parked the truck and called my local Ford dealer. He said I needed to bring it in. I needed to move the truck in the mean time and it did it again. The truck accelerated with my foot on the brake. The Ford dealership couldn't get the truck to repeat the problem. They talked to the Ford regional manager and I was to bring the truck back when they had a service rep available to fully check it out. I chose to leave the truck at the dealership rather than risk driving it. The dealership kept the vehicle for almost two weeks, said they drove it 273 miles and couldn't get the problem to repeat. And if they couldn't get it to repeat the problem they couldn't help. The Ford regional manager said the same thing. I have a lot more notes but they pretty much say the same thing. Can you help me" I am concerned about driving the vehicle without it being repaired. Isn't there a class action lawsuit about Ford trucks doing the same or a similar thing" please let me know.

While driving down the highway about 55 mph the vehicle will down shift and the odometer will die and drop to zero, most of the indicators will have dashes instead of numbers. The truck will automatically slow down causing me to have to pull off the road to avoid an accident. I then have to turn the vehicle off and remove the key from ignition and restart the vehicle up again to reset all the gauges. This normally happens within the first 10 miles of driving the vehicle. This would only happen on a few occasions now it is happening more frequently. There was a recall issued around the 1st of July 2016 but I was told the software fix would not be ready until the 3 quarter of the year. Ford now wants to charge me $131 to diagnose the problem. I should not have to pay for it to be diagnosed if they already have a recall. I wonder how many lives will be in danger until the 3rd quarter update is available.

I have a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Recently I have been experience issues with the truck randomly shifting to first gear. I checked the Ford website and there is a recall notice number 16S19 covering this very issue. I took the truck to the local Ford dealer and they test drove it. They were unable to duplicate the action. They said that there was nothing they could do. I had no choice but to take the vehicle. The very next morning it happened two times on my way to work. I think this is a very unsafe situation and Ford or the dealership should provide me a vehicle until it is fixed. If I experience this random downshift while in traffic it could very easily cause an accident resulting in serious injury. The Ford dealer is bedford Ford located in bedford pa.

While crossing a major intersection the car came to a stop. The engine and the electricity stayed on however RPM's dropped to less than 1000 and it just rolled to a stop. I pressed the accelerator and nothing happened. This persisted for 10 seconds. Luckily, just before I was almost hit the accelerator started working again and I barely made it clear. I brought the truck in as it is still under warranty and they said they know exactly what the issue is but can't fix it until they can re-create it. They have seen this on many F-150's of this year and type. They have had my truck for 3 days and can't make it happen again so they have asked me to come get it, knowing it has this issue. My take on this is I am a guinea pig until it happens enough, someone dies and a recall starts.

#1: driving down the interstate, attempting to pass a semi; vehicle lost power as I tried to accelerate and we had to coast to a stop. This has actually happened twice. The first time they replaced the intercooler and the second time I replaced the spark plugs. It occurred about three weeks after getting the vehicle it's regular service. If there was a problem with the gaps on the plugs, and they knew cars were losing power because of it, then they should have mentioned that at the service! #2: driving down the interstate and speedometer jumped around and went to zero. After I got off the highway, I lost power and had erratic shifting while trying to cross an intersection. There's a tsb out for this too!! why isn't there a recall if there's a defective part that creates dangerous situations!"!"

When driving the truck and I hit the brakes, sometimes the car automatically accelerates having a hard time trying to control the speed of the truck. Went to the dealer and it didn't happen to them, can't explain why this happens. Now I have to brake a great distance in advance before actually going to stop because I don't know if and when it will happen again. It also happened when I was backing up into a parking space and had to jam in park to stop it. It just happens with no warning. It has happened several times in the past two years.

Driving on highway at 70mph, I saw my speedometer momentarily drop to 40mph. It did it again about 15 seconds later, and downshifted to about 4th gear momentarily. About a minute later, still at 70mph the speedometer dropped, and the transmission downshifted to 1st gear! my rear wheels locked up, and I lost control, and fishtailed for a few seconds. Luckily I had taken a half day vacation and was not in rush hour traffic. Still other cars had to swerve to keep from being hit. The dearlership was able to reproduce the problem, and replaced a moulded plastic module made by Continental that I think contained the transmission speed sensor. So it appears that when the transmission speed sensor signal is lost, the failure mode is to downshift to 1st gear no matter the speed of the vehicle.

Going up highway @ 55mph. Pulled around a vehicle to pass. Once, I was in the oncoming traffic the engine suddenly lost power, chugged, and was stumbling over itself. I then got back behind the vehicle I was passing. The 4 passengers and I were all quiet and then freaked out. After a while we pulled out and accelerated to go up road again, truck dogged out. We had no clue what was happening, but everyone was freaked out. We called birthday party destination to tell them we have vehicle trouble and can't make it. Drove it down hill all the while worried the engine was going to blow. Drove it directly to dealership who stated they had no clue and did not want us to leave it there. Said set up appt. 7-10 days out. Parked it until appt. Then they replaced all spark plugs. We also have had troubles with the braking. Where it suddenly takes extra effort and requires the driver to press hard on the brakes to get it to slow down. When we've driven it to Ford for repair they throw their hands up, act frustrated, like they do not have any clue as to what the problems are. We were hesitant to renew our state tags as it sits parked most of the time, since it chugged on level surface with no rain present, and the mechanics light came on. We feel scared driving it and it has remained parked for 3+ weeks. This is our newest vehicle, which looks new and yet we can't drive it. We're not made out of money, and can not easily replace this truck. We want Ford to fix the engine and the brakes, and not act like they have no idea about these problems. Ford wants us to take the loss on the vehicle value or continue driving it until something bad happens. They want nothing in writing. And, we do not want to sell the vehicle to a stranger. We'd allow you to inspect our vehicle....and drive it for a test drive. Would you want to be driving this vehicle with your young children as passengers?

Attempting to accelerate to pass a slower vehicle on the highway. Truck began shuddering and immediately decelerated to 50mph. Would not respond for approximately 75 yards, then would not accelerate over 60mph. Two vehicles (one of those vehicles was a tractor-trailer) following had to take evasive action to avoid rear-end collision. Exited the highway, put the vehicle in park. No warning lights were engaged. Weather was sunny and warm. Now vehicle is shifting very hard with a delayed engagement between 55-60mph.

4 months ago I was driving on the highway and my truck went into limp mode, when I pulled over it was shaking violently with a check engine wrench on the instrument cluster. I shut it down and restarted it a few min later and it was back to normal. It was about 1 hour into my trip and around 32 - 35 degrees out, the roads were wet from snow fall. My wife and I own a home in nh so I travel two hours there and home every weekend. I haven't experienced the limp mode again but every time its wet and cold my truck will stall on acceleration, when at a light, and when on the highway the truck will stop accelerating when I try to give it gas. Again, the only common factor when this happens is the temp and moisture in the air, weather its raining, snowing, or the roads are wet. It will happen almost consistently at the 1.5 hour mark of driving. I've been to the dealer about the issue and they keep saying that the computer isn't showing any troubles, but this is getting aggravating. I have the 6.2 V8 so it our issues we are all having has nothing to do with the ecoboost engine. They need to start looking into something that both engines have in common.

Hello, we wish to file a complaint on the 3.5 L eco boost engine in our 2011 F150. We have had numerous issues of shuttering, lurching, "lag", loss of power/lack of response. We first had this issue passing a semi on a 2 lane highway July 2014, no there was no fog/rain. It immediately shuttered, shook, lurched (coughed/sputtered) loosing power as we were passing. We made maneuvers to get to the shoulder where it struggled to stay engaged. We could have been hit head on, rear ended, side-broaded by the semi or worse, a combination of all 3. not to mention stranded. We have read of other issues, lawsuits and complaints being filed. The "shield" did not work (we have it, installed 8/2014 & flashed comp) it happened again two days in a row last week. The truck had no load either time, what if we were/are pulling our trailer? (the reason we bought this 60K truck, Ford said it would) now they claim spark plugs are fowled, that is a new "fix". (not covered) however that is a separate "carbon tracking" plug issue, (the next "issue" could be the ignition plugs fowling due to carbon tracking from the moisture issue) the problem is not plugs, the major problem is moisture! Ford is not addressing the moisture problem causing the "failure". they are fixing symptoms of the issue. The problem-moisture in the pistons water & engines do not mix! they have not fixed the problem which should fall under lemon law. Next there will be a terrible accident (if not fatal) due to the loss of power/response, what then" "..it was operator error, they slowed/stopped in the middle of the lane in traffic"..tests are exactly what they are; tests. We are every day life; drive the truck for transportation, not petal-metal 24/7, "grocery getters", value our truck. Since when are our lives indispensable or not important? when is any one going to do something about this safety issue before someone dies"
