The lead frame on my truck was experiencing issues. The truck would intermittently randomly downshift at high speeds or get stuck in one gear. I was going 65+ mph on the freeway and and my truck shifted to second gear with no warning causing me to swerve and slam on the brakes. Other times my truck did it on surface streets. There were no warning lights or anything to let me know it would happen. After it downshifted, the wrench popped up on the dash, my speedometer went to 0, and my odometer read blank. Forcing me to pull over, restart the truck, in order to get it out of limp mode to be able to make it home. I took my truck to Ford of Valencia California where they inspected the truck and confirmed it was the lead frame. The issue was that at the time the part was on an 8 month back order so my only option was to replace the entire Valve body instead of only the lead frame. My truck was no longer under the recall and I was forced to pay for this out of pocket less than a month of purchasing the truck from a used dealership. My truck was only inspected by Ford of Valencia and no other agencies. Since this truck was my only form on transportation, I could not wait the 8 months for the lead frame to come in and had to pay out of pocket for the new valve body.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving at 80 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted and the RPM increased and the speedometer became inoperable. The service vehicle soon and the check engine warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that he placed the shifter in park(P) and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and the mechanic retrieved code: 16-0008, indicating that the lead frame failed and needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of the warranty mileage range and directed to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

The truck will go from gear 6 to gear 1 and I lose all power. I've almost been in a wreck multiple times. I entered my vin and it shows no recalls on my truck but when I tried looking up what's going on with it I seen a recall regarding the exact same thing. Idk if it's because it's Canadian or why.

I have a 2011 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. I have had numerous rough 3-4 upshifts since the truck was new. Brought the truck to dealer twice and was told they could not duplicate the rough shift. I have also had the engine stumble on me twice will trying to pass. I have read others are having similar problems and am hoping Ford will have a fix before someone gets killed in a wreck.

Was told I would have to bring my truck to the dealer twice to have this recall done. One time for them to look at it and order parts. And the 2nd time for them to put the part on. They should have the parts in stock to fix recalls. My time is money. Recall 11C21 Ford. Or NHTSA recall 11V-582.

Transmission slams between gears and the drive train "acts" like it is sticking in four wheel drive when at slow speeds going around corners and starting out when you turn the steering wheel. It has become progressively worse and I am concerned that it will break or even worse when out of warranty then break.
