Component: Stereo + Speakers I was put at risk because of the extremely loud sound coming from the speakers that I could not control. I was unable to hear traffic around me or concentrate on driving. It startled me so much I almost swerved into traffic. It was inspected by the manufacturer and they performed a reprogramming of the (audio controller?). There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the problem. It first appeared after owning the vehicle for 6 months. Details of incidents: I have had this happen 6 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by no sound. Volume controls are unresponsive. No audio plays. After 15-20 seconds, the audio returns and volume controls are responsive again. I have had this happen 2 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by continual max volume static. Volume controls are unresponsive. Restarting the vehicle does not fix the problem. Static continues for up to 40 minutes. Once vehicle was turned off for more than a few minutes, the problem stopped and audio returned to normal.

The following occurred in a 2022 Ford F150 Raptor with less than 500 miles. As soon as I put the car in drive and turned out of the parking lot, there was a huge boom that sounded like an explosion. I assumed that something had burst or all of my glass was shattered and the sound of loud crackling noises could be heard coming from the speakers. After the explosion-like sound, I was unable to hear for some time and I nearly went deaf. Regardless of whether I turned the audio on or off, the loud crackling noise would not go away. without delay The service manager afterwards contacted me and told me that the sound system needed to be reconfigured after I drove to the dealer to demonstrate the problem.

while driving, with the audio system off, suddenly I heard a loud explosion. next I heard what sounded like class breaking. I thought i was involved in an accident and slammed on my brakes. Realizing I was ok, the next thought that came to mind was that someone shot at me. The crackling sounds ( like glass breaking did not stop). i drive directly to a ford dealership. they heard and acknowledged the cracking sound. i turned off the truck and the sound CONTINUED.

Loud pop and then extremely loud static coming through all speakers, pulled over turned truck off and noise continued. Unable to drive because noise was so loud. Started truck again and turned off multiple times, turned radio on and off multiple times and noise continued. With truck off doors closed and locked noise continued. After about 15 min it stopped and worked normal. I called dealer and they said they don-??t have a fix and if it is currently working normal there-??s nothing they can do.

I was driving down the highway and a loud pop followed by a very high pitched static noise came out of my speakers. I had to unhook a battery terminal to get it to stop. This is the 3rd time this has happened and the dealership won-??t do anything as it-??s extremely difficult to replicate.

Vehicle B&O Unleashed sound system makes seemingly random BOOMs at full volume (>1000watt system) then a crackling and static sound as well. This is a health risk as my ears hurt 2 days afterward and were ringing no less than 2 hours. This is a safety risk as it seems like gunshots and I was panicked and almost wrecked. Others on forums have wrecked. Here is a description of the -??event-?? this Saturday 5/6/23 Start truck, tiny popping sound, think little of it. Drive about 2 minutes then BOOM BOOM BOOM three speaker max volume blasts, then tweeters start to crackle and give that constant -??static-?? sound. All tweeters continued for minutes. (video in middle of this) I stopped at a light, turned truck off and turned back on-?? no change sounds continue. Stopped at another light, turned truck off, opened door, then turned back on. The static stopped but crackles continued, upon restart static and crackles both continue. What was curious is that as I sped up the volume increased and decreased slightly when I slowed down, which is in line with the variable speed settings. I thought that was peculiar as it indicates some of the settings are still sending normal signals. Stopped, turned off truck, got out and closed door, and fifteen seconds later all sounds finally stopped (have video of this but too much data for NHTSA online portal system).

When starting the car there was a loud audio pop that transitioned into a deafening static sound that I could not stop. I had to drive 80 minutes to the dealer with the windows down so I didn-??t end up with hearing damage. The stereo could not be turned down or off. The volume knob would turn but the level showed as though it were turned off. After 80 minutes of it my ears were ringing and still are. The dealer tells me I need some replacement -??radio-?? module as they were unable to make the sound stop and leave the car safe to drive.

My 2022 F-150 4x4 Platinum Supercrew Powerboost full hybrid, about 11,500 miles, had no issues until about 6:30 PM 4/11/23, when I started the truck as normal. Immediately, a very loud explosion sound occurred followed by loud "sparks and crackles". The sound was painfully loud, but after 5-10 seconds the sound ended. Thereafter, the the audio system was unable to produce any sound in any app (audio, nav, phone, etc). In audio, the volume was shown as zero on the screen and continued to show zero on turning of the volume knob. Turning the audio system on and off and turning the vehicle on and off did not alter the problem; volume remained zero and the car was silent in all modes. Later that night, a couple hours after shutting the vehicle off, I restarted the vehicle and the audio was normal. This is dangerous and unacceptable.

I remote started the vehicle, when inside the vehicle I pressed the start button. Directly after pressing the start button, a very loud pop followed by static played through the speakers. I was not able to turn the audio volume down or off. I was forced to drive home while the loud static noise continued to play through the speakers. When I arrived home about 25 minutes later, I was able to disconnect the vehicles battery to stop the static playing. I also noticed a burnt electrical smell inside the vehicle but could not identify where specifically the smell was coming from. The following day, the issue seamed to be resolved but the audio quality appeared to be diminished. The subwoofer is no longer working as a result of this audio issue. This would have been very dangerous had I been driving when the problem started and if I had my young child in the vehicle.

Upon starting the vehicle there was an extremely loud electrical static/popping sound coming from all speakers. Sound was extremely loud, in the hearing damage range - estimate over 100db. After a few seconds the sound stopped. I have seen reports online that this is happening to multiple customers driving late model Ford F150 with the B&O speaker system. If this had happened while driving it would be extremely startling and could lead to accidents. The sound is so loud it could cause hearing damage.

On multiple occassions the speaker system has had a deafening blast of static noise that actually made my ears hurt. luckily my daughter wasn't in the car on either occassion but the sound was so loud that I actually had ringing in my ears after I figured out how to make it stop. I told ford about it but they said there's no fix and they don't know when one will be coming out. I have dash cam video of both incidents that I uploaded to youtube: first incident https://youtu.be/rtBawsLdca0 2nd incident - short pops of static at :25 and 1:15 in the video https://youtu.be/rWSP5E-XXCM

Today I start my 2022 F150 Hybrid and I got a loud beep like something didn't work, and then the speaker started screaming at more than 100decibel. It was so loud I couldn't stay inside for more than 10s. I still feel sick after 30 min. I tried to stop / restart the car, the noise continues. I had to wait 30 min and when I re-started the noise stopped. I am VERY concerned about this problem regarding my young kid. If she was in the car at that time, she could have permanent erring loss. I went to my dealership and once again they said they need to see the problem do to anything. This unacceptable from Ford. Since that, I have ear protection near by... Started the truck and there was a loud pop followed by every speaker in the truck blasting an ear-splitting machine-gun like sound. The volume and audio power controls had no effect. Shutting down the truck and opening the door stopped it, but it immediately start again when the truck was started. After several restarts, I hit the F-150 forums and found that pulling fuse 28 from the passenger footwell would stop it so I could drive the truck home. The next day I put the fuse back in and the issue has not reoccurred. I took the truck into the dealer at the next appointment and they were not able to reproduce the issue or find any codes (they listened to music at various volumes and channels for 20 minutes trying to reproduce it, even though I told them I had driven 25 hours since then without it happening). This issue is well known on the Ford F-150 forums with reports of some dealers trying reprogramming or replacing modules, but no conclusive fix that I've heard of. I have a video of it occurring, but the upload won't take video.

2022 Ford F150, PowerBoost, Platinum, 9100 miles, Bang and Olufson 18 speaker stereo system. Got in the truck today and turned the truck on and instantly heard very loud, "electric crackling" noise. It took a few seconds to realize the noise was coming out of the speakers. I was not able to turn the noise off, with radio power button or by turning the truck off. I was perplexed, so I started a to record a video, (which I have). After another short period of time, 60 seconds? I realized the noise was only coming from the A Pillar tweeters and rear door speakers. I switched from SURROUND to STEREO and the noise finally turned off. My wife was afraid to ride home with me but we did with no issue after that (approximately 7 miles. I am reading on other Ford F150 website, this is a pretty common issue, that Ford has not been able to track down as of yet. Very scary. I have not been able to replicate, but I havent driven the truck again yet, to try and replicate. There were\are no warning lights or errors on the truck and I have all the latest updated software to my APIM and Sync.

I went out to my vehicle in the morning and when opening the door a loud pop came from the speakers and then static there after. The pop was so loud my ears rang for quite awhile. The problem some how was gone 15 minutes later. I have young children and my worry is this happens when they are in the vehicle.

Upon starting the truck an extremely loud deafening pop was heard through the speakers and then a very loud crackling/static noise. The stereo did not work after that. This has happened twice now on March 3, 2023 & March 8, 2023 and is so loud it makes your ears ring. I called the dealership & service rep stated they have not heard of this before. They could not get my truck in for at least a week or more due to back log of vehicles needing service in electrical service department. There was no warning lights sounds, this happens with no warning upon starting the truck.

The problem appears to be with the B&O Unleashed audio system, possibly the factory stereo amplifier in my new 2022 F-150 Platinum Powerboost. I was pulling up to a red light intersection, with the audio system off but connected via wireless Apple Carplay, when the audio system produced a deafening noise so loud that I thought I was involved in a major traffic crash. The noise startled me so badly I could have easily lost control of the vehicle. I was shaking for several minutes after the initial deafening noise. The loud noise was followed by an extremely loud crackling sound from the speakers. I tried turning the audio system on/off but it did not respond. The cracking noise continued and I was able to get off the roadway and turned off my vehicle. After I opened the driver's door with the vehicle off, the noise stopped. But as soon as I started my vehicle the cracking noise continued. I have made repeated requests for a Ford Dealership service appointment at multiple Dealerships, but the earliest appointment is weeks away. The vehicle seemed to operate normally prior to this incident. This issue has been reported by at least 50 members on the "f150gen14.com" forum. As of this posting, there does not appear to be a known reported issue by Ford, or a fix for the issue.
