engine seized engine seized engine seized engine seized engine seized

On 09/18/19, I was driving home when I heard a knocking sound - like rocks kicking up under my car. I was driving about 20-25 mph on a neighborhood street. I decided to slow down and then realized that the car was slowing down for me. I tried to pull over to the side and my steering was locked. I received no warning lights and my car temperature remained the same - between cold and hot. I was not able to restart the car. After the car was towed to the repair shop, it was determined that the water pump overheated which caused the coolant to mix with the oil. The engine was damaged beyond repair. My choice was to purchase a new car or pay $8,500 to buy a new engine. We decided to purchase a new engine but not through Ford, but with a different company. This company knew that the water pump was faulty and fixed what Ford has still not fixed or acknowledged that there was a problem.

I was shocked to learn that Ford is still putting the same engine with the faulty water pump in its new cars. I am thankful that I was in my neighborhood when this happened and not a freeway. Ford is lucky that no one has been hurt from this faulty water pump that has yet to be recalled by Ford. The car has 94,000 miles on it and I am the original owner.
