Three out of four tire valves cracked and leaked air during long highway trips. There was no sudden failure and no accidents occurred. The problem was corrected by replacing the tire valve and reinflating the tire.

2007 Ford Freestyle. Consumer states a vibration/ noise coming from the front end of the vehicle the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer to have the vibration/noise inspected. However, the dealer stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The consumer returned to the dealer because the front end noise had worsened. The dealer informed the consumer that all four pirelli P6 tires were cupped with flat spots. The damage was on the inside edge only of all four tires. The consumer also stated the tires were regularly balanced and rotated. Upon research, the consumer learned the pirelli P6 tires Ford installed at the factory had been problematic when used on the 2005/2007 Ford Freestyles. The report described the exact same problem and showed a typical wear pattern that he experienced with his vehicle. After 2 1/2 years, the dealer confirmed the noise was indeed coming from the tires. The consumer stated the question still remains at which caused the problem; the tires or the suspension.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Freestyle. The vehicle has Continental touringcontact as tires, size 205/65R15. The contact stated that her tires became worn and the tread became bald very quickly. The tires only had 25,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and they stated that the dill valve stems were recalled. The vehicle has tech international, model TR413 valve stems. Air continued to leak from the tires due to the valve stems and the contact had to refill them with air each week. She purchased two rear tires for her vehicle. The two front tires have not yet been replaced. The manufacturer has not been notified. The valve stem equipment information was unavailable. The current mileage was 25,021 and failure mileage was 25,000.

I purchased a new 2007 freeystyle, I have just under 17,000 miles. My Continental tires are weather checked. My Ford dealer says I have to pay 60% of new tires along with balancing, disposal, etc. I am very concerned about the safety of the tires. Also, they say I have to put the same brand back on.
