The number 16 transmission fuse would blow and then the car wouldn-€™t start until you replaced the fuse and now it-€™s not even starting when the fuse is replaced.
The passenger side airbag is bulging from the dashboard causing the widows to fog. Also while driving parts of the dashboard flew off which could result in injury or death if this issue is not resolved promptly
A recall was issued for our 2008 for Fusion concerning the ABS system. This recal is NHTSA 19V904. We have recieved postcards from Ford Motor Company concerning this critical defect in the brake system numerous times in the past 2 years, this problem has not been resolved and I feel the car may me unsafe to drive daily.the master cylinder has been replaced to try and remedy this problem over 2 years ago. Still, brake travel and fluid has lost pressure many times since while driving. The local dealer, nor Ford Motor Company, will not comment on the recall nor the repair that is needed and estimated time this will be.
Dashboard around the airbag and defrosting agent is bulging and coming apart. I feel that this would be a malfunction if the airbag were to be deployed causing serious injury or death.
The door handles keep breaking. They are made of junk plastic and I have had to replace 3 out of 4 door handles and the driver door 3 different times now. I also have a friend with a 2012 Fusion with the same issue. Please recall these crappy parts Ford!

My driver side door will not open from the inside. Thru extensive research I have found that this seems to be an issue on the Fusion years 2007- 2012 models. It seems to be that a crack forms in the handle causing the cable to come out of place. This happens when the car is stationary.
The dashboard warped and the affected areas are the center dashboard and the passenger side. The airbag light is still on after getting the airbag recall fixed.
Takata recall: The airbag is opening. Also the long bar on the dashboard close to the front window, the left side has popped up. There was no accident!
I was driving home from campus and my suspension started acting up. It started firing up and down and fluctuating a lot. I had to pull off the highway and take backroads. It was still acting up the entire time. The "check engine" light and "wrench" light both came on simultaneously. I could barely go over 35 mph without the RPM flaring up past 5000 and it felt like my whole engine was going to give out. Even when I was going 20-25 mph, it felt and sounded like I had the pedal to the floor. The aaa guy who towed my car said that I had the same transmission part number as a 2010, which got recalled for faulty transmissions. My car only has 40,000 miles on it so there is no way I should be having issues with the transmission unless the part is faulty or it is something I am unaware of.
The inside door handles break very easily have replaced twice. When broken and have to wait for replacement the door will not lock even manually and I feel unsafe due to someone having access to car whilr at stop, light or when parked in public areas
The department of motor vehicles has contacted me about my 2008 Ford Fusion it has a recall with the airbags that could kill or seriously injured or me or any of the passengers if it deploys, my airbag light stays on I bought it at Ontario sales in lockport New York, when I bought my car the people had already told me that there was a recall on it and I should be getting a letter in the mail that was about a year ago 2017
Dash board is warped. Took it to the dealership where I was told that they no longer had the dashboard. This dashboard is so warped it is an issue to the airbags.
On the passenger side of the dashboard where the passenger airbag, and the dashboard meet, the dashboard has separated from the airbag compartment resulting in a bell shaped curve rising approximately 1 1/2 inches above the airbag deployment compartment. If the airbag were to deploy, it could be affected by this amount of risen dashboard. I've also seen this in other 2008 Ford Fusion. Sent letters to Ford, and they refuse to help out.
The dashboard is bulging it doesn't look good and it doesn't feel safe. I wonder if it would activate correctly at an impact during an accident or if it would activate while riding down the road. It started on the right side passenger and it has slowly moved to the left side driver. This started happening over 2 years ago and it's slowly become worse. Ford needs to be held accountable for the fix this is cosmetic but it also is functional with the airbag right behind it where it started.
When the ABS is engaged, brakes go soft/are lost. This has happened 3 to 4 times so far. So when the ABS activates, I lose about 80 percent of my braking capability and have to push the brake all the way to the ground for it to even slow down the car. It does not even stop the car, it just slows the car a little bit. The car then needs to be restarted for the brakes to work again. The most recent incident of this was in Washington DC. The ABS engaged on a city street and the car rolled into the intersection because the brakes failed. There was no collision but only narrowly.
My dashboard is separating from the car. It is getting so bad that now it is separating from where the passenger air bag is at. The other issue is that I have in the passenger door an imploded airbag that has caused a bubble in my door. My car has not been in any form of accidents for either of these items to occur. As for my airbag that has been on recall for 21/2 years and has yet to be handled, yet my brother in law and my cousin have both had their cars fixed (not Ford) which makes me wonder what the issue is.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. While driving 45 mph, a deer struck the contact's vehicle. Neither of the front air bags deployed. The vehicle sustained front end damage to the radiator, headline assembly, bumper, and motor. The body damage was not repaired. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The contact's mother took the contact to the hospital due to injuries to the right forearm, thumb, and right shoulder. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was unknown. "takata recall" the door handle on the care is broken which enables me to get out of the vehicle. Which to me is considered a death trap. I have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside or have someone open it for me. My air bag is also raising out of the passenger side. This scares me. On hot days I fear that it may just explode due to the heat. Which may be a hazard to others and I.
This past week my car has been driving rough (sputtering) and seems to notice it more when driving on the highway but there are times while driving on city streets you can notice it (hear it and feel it) too. My tires are good, last year already had the PCM (major control module) replaced ($2,700) along with all the coils and spark plugs, and also pcu replaced and replaced my hcu ($1,500). So what the heck more can go wrong with this car. Trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with this car now.
