This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Dashboard shows "temporarily lost connection with climate system". When displayed, the air conditioning system (cold or heat) works. Other functions on dash board are also unavailable. Windows or door locks do not work. Considerable safety concern for all but especially a vehicle transporting young children and/or infants. Summer heats rise to unbearable to dangerous to deadly if not addressed. Ford apparently has no fix but the issue is well documented amongst Ford owners. Unsure why this isn't a recall option given the nature and number of concerns. any help at all would be appreciated. While I provide today's date that it occurred, i share the problem has been ongoing for several years. It is on and off with the only consistent indication being when it is hot outside.
For no reason at all the steering assist fault needs serviced continuously comes on while driving or sitting still making it impossible to steer. Has noticed this is a common problem among Ford vehicles my car has less than 100000 miles on it. There's no rhyme or reason when it happens or any warning. Could make a car crash a very real possibility.
Trunk randomly opens on its own. Opens constantly throughout day even when driving down road. Things have blown out of trunk while driving and have caused me to have to pull over on side of road and potentially cause accidents.

My vehicle's battery drained out because we hadn't been driving the vehicle much due to covid stay-home orders in Michigan and staying at home over the holidays. We rolled it out of the garage and jump started it in the driveway, then let it run for an hour to recharge the battery rather than driving it because our power steering and advance trac were showing fault messages and it was very difficult to steer the vehicle. The messages didn't go away after we turned it off and restarted it. We even left it overnight and tried the next morning. The messages are as follows: Low battery features temporarily turned off steering assist fault service required service advance trac there are also two warning lights showing a car skidding, one with the text "off" under it. I believe these are the traction control warning lights. Looking on the internet, I see there have been recalls for steering problems related to the electric power steering assist systems https://www.consumerreports.org/car-recalls-defects/Ford-recalls-sedans-and-SUVS-steering-problem/www.fordproblems.com/epas/ I contacted Ford to see if they could provide some advice or assistance. There don't seem to be any recalls associated with this issue for my vehicle's VIN. They suggested I try turning it off and turning it on again (a "key cycle") to see if it would reset, which I have done a few times with no success. They then suggested taking it to the dealership to have it checked out. I don't feel safe driving with the steering wheel being so difficult to turn, so will need to have it towed. I also I fear I could be expensive to get this fixed if Ford does not recognize this as a service issue. I thought I should document this in case other vehicle owners have experienced similar problems and this is in fact a systematic issue, not an isolated case.
I took my car into the Ford dealer for service as the car's bluetooth wouldn't pair to my cell phone. The issue began about two months ago. The dealer determined that the apim module needs replacing. The module is important for hands free communication while driving.
While driving on the highway, my dash informed me that my power steering module failed, and I had to pull over because the power steering was no longer working. I took it to a Ford dealership who misdiagnosed it as a battery issue. After getting a new battery the same issue happened again. I now have to replace the whole power steering which will cost me 3K.
When getting ready to park the car the car says it's it nuetral but it's actually I believe in park. I took my foot off the break and it was moving backwards. I put the parking break on the car so it is stationary.
I have made several complaints about my 2015 Ford Fusion. The air conditioner will randomly shut off, and when this happens, I also cannot use any of my 4 windows, the radio, lock the car from the inside, and now my outside lights wont always turn on. For whatever reason, this happens more in the summer months. I have two toddlers and we travel long distance fairly regularly. What happens if its a hot summer day, the ac shuts off and I cant roll down my windows, especially when I have my children? 6/19/2020 I had a doctors appointment one hour away and this happened to me; luckily I did not have my children with. I often work evenings and nights, half an hour away from home. I can't drive with no headlights. There is 0 pattern in these issues so I cannot pinpoint what exactly triggers this. Pulling over and completely shutting off the car, taking the keys out of the ignition, and waiting for all electricity to shut off before restarting the car does not make a difference. I had to bring my car in 3 times for this, each time being told "nothing found that was wrong with the car" until I called the Ford company, made a complaint, and received a case number, and am now being told the internal computer system is "shot". the more I researched online about these issues, the more I see other's making same/similar complaints for the same vehicle.
I leased a used vehicle on 6/5 and was kept there till autoplaza's closing time at 7 so when I finally left the car lot I realized while driving on the highway that there was no horn. I called when they reopened on 6/6 to schedule it to be fixed which they agreed to have it ready by 6/8, unfortunately while driving on the highway that same afternoon on 6/6 the cars engine died and I managed to coast the car off the highway into a random parking lot. I immediately called the sales man and I quote he said 'it's more than likely the alternator and that he was already tracking me on gps' so I was told to lock the keys in the car and it would be towed back to the dealership to be ready by 6/8. fast forward to the afternoon of 6/8, I call the dealership a hour before getting off work at 3:30pm to verify it would be ready by 5 and to my surprise I was told they were unsure if they had the car to begin with and was put on hold till the phone call dropped from their end. I called back again and was met with a voicemail so I left it alone and tried to get information again on 6/10. This time the sales man said it wasn't his problem and to call the office for service but after being forwarded to voicemail multiple times I demanded to speak with a manager. I tell the manager I'm aware it's illegal to sell a car without a horn and that I've been duped so I want my money back and his answer was no that he already received money from a bank on my behalf. I told him he had till the end of 6/10 to give me a answer on when it would be ready or I would get a lawyer so his answer was no matter what he would call me by 5pm that day with a status update but he never called. Since then I've been unable to get any straight answer or even a manager on the phone and it's been almost 3 weeks. I have a payment due from them for $250 every 2 weeks which is due tomorrow but I blocked the payments.
The sync intouch system in my 2015 Ford Fusion is not working properly. For example, when I go to my climate setting it states temporary lost communication with the climate system. I'm not able to turn my volume on or off/up or down, or change the radio station. I'm also not able to roll down my passenger side window. The issue happens whether I'm stationary or driving.
Has problems starting after putting gas in the tank. Check engine light on, mechanic says it's a purge valve. Know alot of other Fusion owners with same problem. Seems to be happening around 40,000 miles. Have to sit at gas station about 10 to 15 min sometimes. Others times just starts rough.
The entire center console instrument panel stops working. The radio will not work and the climate control and rear defroster will not work. I am unable to defrost the windows or keep the entire cabin of the car warm. It first happened this morning when I was headed to work. I drove the car for approximately one mile, and everything stopped working. I pulled over and shut the car down and restarted it, everything worked for approximately a minute before shutting down again.
Mileage of car is 53,100. Wife (driver) reported that while driving in normal traffic at night, the car lost all electrical power: Lights, motor function, radio, etc. She turned on the emergency flashers and came to a stop. She turned the key to restart and car functioned normally. I checked the car the following day and no problems detected.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While driving at an unknown speed, several warning indicators illuminated. The interior dome light illuminated and the air conditioner activated independently. The vehicle was taken to dahl Ford davenport (1310 E kimberly rd, davenport, ia 52807, (563) 391-2600) where it was diagnosed that the occupant restraint control module needed to be replaced.
