I literally just bought this car and within 15 min of driving off the lot it stalled multiple times in the drive thru and then again when pulling onto the road and oncoming traffic almost hit us. Terrifying.

Imagine driving at normal speed when suddenly you suffer complete engine power loss. The power steering, braking, lighting and climate control systems remain fully functional so you have no clear clue on what is occurring, however you know the vehicle no longer remains operational and you come to a complete stop in the middle of the road.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration. The wrench and engine warning indicators illuminated and then the vehicle stalled. The contact managed to restart the vehicle twice, but it stalled again when he arrived home. The following day, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and has been there ever since March 27, 2017. The contact stated that the failure started in January of 2017. The vehicle was taken to the dealer two other times for repairs for the same failure. The dealer replaced the total control module back in January, but the failure continued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I was driving in heavy traffic -- lots of stop and go -- when my knee hit the ignition key fob and apparently turned it into the acc position. Car shut down and message "transmission not in park" appeared on the display. I turned on the emergency blinkers and drifted over to the side of the 4-lane highway. After stopping and putting it in park I restarted the engine. Car is usually driven by 5' 3" driver without this problem; but I am 6" 3" and my knee continually hits the ignition key fob as I move my foot from the accelerator to the brake. To say that this is a serious problem for tall drivers of the Ford Fusion would be an understatement!

My vehicle has stalled multiple times during motion and when it was in stationary. There was a message popping up on the dashboard saying "transmission not in park", I took it to multiple dealers to see if they can find the issue and all of them said that their computer isn't detecting the issue that I'm having. So they can't duplicate my concern. I even opened up a lemon law case in NJ so hopefully they can help me.

I rented this 2015 Ford Fusion SE4 for 2 weeks from enterprise rental car location at 2090 N SR7, hollywood, fl 33021, ph.no. 954-964-9954. During the drive back to enterprise to return the vehicle, my knee brushed up against the fob dangling from the keyed ignition switch, the key rotated to the acc position from the run/on position and the engine stopped. I was in drive at the time, so I stopped the vehicle, placed the transmission shifter in park and restarted the engine. On arrival at enterprise while stopped in their parking lot with foot on the brake and the transmission in drive, I was able without any difficulty to turn the ignition key to accessory or off while the transmission was still in drive. I demonstrated this same procedure to the enterprise agent who stated that he would remove it from service and take it to a Ford dealer for repairs. Fl tag # dfsm59

Started car and several warnings popped up on display... something about "hill assist" not available, "steering assist fault service required", and "service advancetrac". steering wheel felt like it was still locked... turns out it was just extremely difficult to turn. I'm 6'3" 200+ lbs. If it's difficult for me to turn, it would be impossible for most people. If this had failed while the car was in motion, someone could have been seriously injured or worse. Ford had this same problem on 2011-2012 Fusion and issued a recall and now it's still happening on 2015 models. This needs to be recalled immediately as Ford never really fixed the problem. Excerpt from 2011-2012 Fusion recall: Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 423,000 vehicles (actual 422,814) including certain 2011-2013 Ford Taurus and flex vehicles, Lincoln mks and mkt vehicles, for certain 2011-2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln mkz vehicles, and for certain 2011 Mercury Milan vehicles in North America for a potential intermittent electrical connection in the steering gear that might result in the loss of electric power steering assist while driving. If this happens, the steering system defaults to manual steering mode, making the vehicle more difficult to steer, especially at lower speeds. This could result in the increased risk of a crash.

While driving the vehicle, I went to reverse and turn around. When I shifted into reverse all electrical systems failed, brakes no longer worked, and I slowly went back until I hit a small concrete pillar. This problem has happened now multiple times, at random speeds and random times. It's never set on a specific motion or action.

The vehicle is a hybrid plus. It has a charge port. The vehicle will not accept a charge and check engine light is on. The entire wiring harness from front to back has to be replaced. This job requires complete removal of the entire interior. Also Ford has not been in contact with the dealer or myself in 5 days regarding this issue. This is the 3rd time it had been in the shop - first for a faulty dash and second for a bad ac compressor. - vehicle has 1600 miles on it.

03/2015 lost control of the breaks and had to use the parking breaks to attempt to stop me and U still hit another car. 07/09/2015 lost all control of breaks, instrument panel display turned white and the mft turned black, motor shut off. The dealer can't find the problem, they just do a computer reset and it temporarily fixes the problem but they reject me to put my child in this car!

I bought a brand new 2015 Ford Fusion. My knee has hit the key fob multiple times while driving and the car has turned off while in motion. This is a very dangerous situation because the car shuts off while in traffic. The key fob sticks way out and for a guy who is 6ft it is very hard to avoid hitting the key fob with my knee. This will kill someone. I told Ford and they don't care. I told the dealer I wanted to return the car and they would let me. Please fix the key fob. This is the same problem Chevy camero's were having. Google "Ford Fusion fob knee".

I was driving southbound on I-75 almost to perrysburg in the middle lane and my car completely shut off. My car was still in drive, but all the lights on my dash went black and when I pressed on the gas pedal I wasn't going anywhere. There was a truck next to me in the right hand lane, I waited for it to pass and then got over. I finally made it to the shoulder and put my car in park. I then waited a couple minutes and restarted my car.

Rented car from enterprise car rental (734)451-2499. Car lost power on two occasions while driving. First time around 9:00 am going East on 401 in Canada, second time around 8:00 pm going West on 402 in Canada. Lost power steering, engine power, power brakes and headlights. Was able to safely pull over and had to place car in park and restarted car with ignition key. Rental car company provides two car keys with a braided chain to keep the two keys together and to discourage customer from separating the keys (need wire cutters to separate). The Ford keys are very heavy and have integrated keyfob. To prevent the keys from hitting my knees, I used a tywrap to pull them closer together.
