I was notified of recall 18S20 for my for Fusion around mid August. On August 29, after getting gas the shifter would shift to drive but the car would not shift at all and therefore we were unable to drive it. My husband was able to get it to manually shift by tinkering with the engine shift, and we were able to put it in drive and drove to North central Ford in richardson Texas. There we were told that it was the recall issue but they would be unable to fix it or help us because they did not have the go ahead form Ford Motor Company or the parts. However, they said that if we paid full price to fix it, $700 dollars, they would be able to fix it for us and when Ford approved the fix then we would be reimbursed. We didn't have the $700, so the manager jim ayo explained that there was nothing they could do. This resulted in loss of wages for a full day's job and a car that is not running or usable. I am baffled at the fact that it is a Ford issue from a recall but I am expected to fix it. The approximate fix timeframe is July 2018 or after. I would like a solution asap as this is my vehicle for traveling to work.

The shifter on my car reads park but the actual gear it is in is neutral. I've taken the car to supreme Ford in slidell, but was told the party's to fix the recall weren't in. I then called the corporate office and was told I would have to pay for a diagnostic before getting the recall fixed on my vehicle. I thought my car was in park one night and it ended up rolling into someone's driveway by the time I woke up the next morning.

I have received a safety recall notice 'safety recall notice 18S20/ NHTSA recall 18V471. On Aug 15, 2018 my car's shifter became stuck on the park position however the notification on the dash board stated 'transmission not on park.' I had my car towed to the david w. wilson's villaford on Aug 16, 2018 at 9:56am. The dearler stated that they would have my car diagnosed and if it was the recalled part then they would let me know what options I had. The dealer still did not have a diagnosis for me as of 10:09am on Aug 17,2018 which is when I decided to call customer relations at Ford Michigan's headquarters. I had a case made with the Ford headquarters which resulted in the dealership notifying me that I could have a rental from them while they contacted the Ford headquarters about how to move forward. The dealership then stated that this was an advanced recall which Ford headquarters is not yet covering and because they are contracted they would not pay out of pocket to provide me with any assistance to help the situation. Once I asked why this recall isn't being covered they changed their story saying it wasn't intact the recalled part but a cable. I called Ford headquarters again and they and asked the Ford dealership to check if they had any resources to help me since the new part was note yet available. The dealership stated that Ford was not going to cover anything for this recall yet and because of this I would need to pay out of pocket for a rental or to have my car repaired even though per Ford headquarters, there is still no replacement for the recalled part yet. Ford headquarters stated this was an issue with the recalled part but they are not yet covering the recall so the only option for me wouldn't be to pay for a rental car out of pocket and once the part arrived I could get my car fixed (however any fees for the rental would not be covered).

The shifter cable failed to engage and my car was stuck in reverse and began backing up while gear said it was in park. I turned car off and it would no longer crank because gear was showing in reverse. I contacted dealership regarding recall and they said I had to pay for it. Recall number is 18V471

Recall number:18S20 NHTSA recall number:18V471 on July 20,2018 approximately 3:45am I pulled in a parking lot I put my car in park and went to get out of my vehicle and my vehicle began to roll backwards almost running over my foot as I was exiting my vehicle, I immediately jumped back inside terrified and held my foot on the brake while having an panic attack. I sat for hours holding my foot on the brake because I couldn't breathe and couldn't think when I finally could catch my breath after several phone call attempts I finally got a relative on the phone and asked what to do, they suggested putting my emergency brake on until I could contact my dealership which didn't open until 9:30am. After testing I received a phone call saying the bushings that attach the shifter cable to the transmission had detached from the transmission causing my vehicle to be in park but stuck in reverse causing the vehicle to roll backwards without me knowing because I think it's in park and there's no sign of me knowing it's stuck in reverse except when it started to roll away and almost over me as I was getting out. This has been such an big inconvenience for me this has caused me to miss work from 7/20/2018-7/24/2018 because I had no transportation to work (my commute to work is 1.5 hours), my son was not able to go to childcare, ect. And Ford has offered me no help because they say the replacement bushings aren't even in production yet. Ford is telling me there is nothing they can do because the recall is not active yet so now I have to lose my job, only income, my bills have become delinquent due to me not having transportation to and from work this is not right and Ford should not treat customers this way and should accommodate me until they figure out a solution this recall should have been handled in a more timely manner im paying money for a car and I have no transportation.

My 2015 Ford Fusion has difficulty changing gears while driving, specifically shifting from first to second, then second to third. Also, rough shifting from park to reverse with my foot on the brake. The latest incident was when I moved the gear shift from park to reverse and the car did not shift into gear. I put it back into park, then into reverse again and it shifted. I drive it home, very slowly, and had it towed to the dealership the next morning. Ford corporate is involved, after four months of me asking for a new transmission, and they have not informed me of a conclusive decision on what they are going to do. I am afraid for my life to drive this vehicle, and have told the dealership and Ford corporate so multiple times. The car isn't generating any codes, and they have, so far, refused to put a new transmission and associated parts in the vehicle. I do not qualify for the lemon laws in my state because I am the second owner of the vehicle. However, I purchased it as a certified pre-owned vehicle from what I thought was a reputable dealer. In dealing with this dealership, I have come to realize that the dealer is worthless and shady. I'm working with another dealer now, and they seem to be a bit better. Ford corporate is refusing to take responsibility for the issues with this deathtrap they sold me, and I'm struggling to get out of the car even though it's been in the shop five times now for the same issue. My car is still under warranty. They have replaced several items, but the car drives more roughly after every "repair" attempt. I want out of this deathtrap, and I want Ford to give me all of my money back that I paid for it. Word to the wise, don't ever buy a Ford.

Driver(wwii vet) had to push connect phone on three different locations while driving at interstate speed..putting 3 lives in jepordy..please dismantle this feature like the address you can enter when searching for a location till the car stops--completely unsafe and rediculous..also the car makers havent got it right yet after 100 yrs. On determining the correct location of controls--consistancy does pay off, it sure does when it comes to selling vehicles by them not being consistant and you crash and have to keep them in business buying their parts and repair from their company..signed-passenger-backseat, havent drove since 2012--and auto makers don't deserve it.

Imagine driving at normal speed when suddenly you suffer complete engine power loss. The power steering, braking, lighting and climate control systems remain fully functional so you have no clear clue on what is occurring, however you know the vehicle no longer remains operational and you come to a complete stop in the middle of the road.

I am filing this complaint due the number of documented occurrences of sun roofs cracking or exploding on Ford Fusion and other Ford branded vehicles. On 9/1/2017 while opening the sun roof heard pop sound. The sun roof opened about 5 inches. I returned it to the closed position and found the sun roof cracked in a rectangular pattern across the entire glass. The car had been parked from 9:00 am pst until 5:00 pm pst at my work site with all 4 windows cracked about 1/2 to 1 inch. As well I noticed that on the backseat driver side the head liner had detached from roof and below weather stripping. Attempted to push it back up but it will not stay after the sunroof cracked. Entering the car I rolled all windows down, turned on ac which was set at 64 degrees and then attempted to open the sun roof before driving off. All windows and open sun roof was to help evacuate warm air that remained in the car as it was parked during the day. Currently the car has 9961 miles on the odometer. Care is driven about 6 miles Monday - Friday from my home to work and back.

While driving, my vehicle overheated. Checked coolant level, and it was less than half full. I refilled coolant to recommended level, and proceeded to drive. Two weeks later, it overheated again, and my coolant was low again. Refilled and monitored for leaks. No leaks. Then vehicle began misfiring. Diagnosed with cylinder 3 misfire. Replaced spark plugs and coil packs. Still misfiring. Rediagnosed with cylinder 3 misfire. Then it just died. Would not start. Acted as though it was flooding. Diagnosed with no additional issues by dealership. Then discovered tsb for a bolt that was backing out of the intercooler and into the manifold. This issue was allowing coolant to flood the manifold and cause misfiring. Got that fixed as well as the catalytic converter and turbo unit for the car which were damaged as a result of the coolant issue. $5,000 in repairs for a manufacturing defect that could have left my family and I stranded in the desert heat without A/C or in the sub-zero snowy mountains without heat since the vehicle would not even start. As a family, we travel extensively. This is definitely a safety issue!!!!!

Takata recall: On my way home I would be sitting at the light. And then all of a sudden the car wouldn't move. It had just shut off on me. Then after a while the check engine light would come on, but then it would got out. Then a week or two later the car started to make a noise and then it would shut off, with out me physically doing so. I would have to put the car in park, turn the car off, wait a few minutes and then start it up again. And the car would run as if nothing had happened. This would happen more often when I'm in rush hour ( stop and go traffic). Then I figured maybe if I took the hwy home it wouldn't do that. No such luck. As I was just about to get off at the exit I needed it made that same noise again. I had just got off the hwy onto a busy street (during rush hour). I was in the right turning lane and couldn't go anywhere for a few seconds. So until I was able to get it fixed I would have to take the side streets just in case it happened again. At least on a side street I'll have time to pull over out of the way of traffic to let the car sit for a second to readjust itself. This would happen every so often, until we had a chance to get it fixed.

I have the steering issues from defective eps programming that causes pulling to either side. The wipers don't work properly. The seats are hard and positioned wrong. The vehicle is too low. The rear makes a helicopter noise if I open the window while driving. The trans vibrates the car in eco but also shifts very hard in sport. The vehicle shut off while driving more than once. The list of problems go on and on.

The volume on the reverse sensing system is to low. With the radio on it is barely noticeable. I owned another Ford that I traded in on this car and the volume was nice and loud. 1st off I'll start with the worse to lease problems, the trans shifting very slowly and hard, the car is too low and hits everytime to a driveway is entered at a mall or any parking lot and is too low for Chicago winters, the seats are very cheap and get stains from drops of water, car rides hard and noisy especially the rear, poor stereo sound, very slow acceleration, electronic steering makes the vehicle difficult to control and hard to stay straight in lane, and everything's in the wrong place (arm rest too low to reach steering wheel, seat to low or far away to reach pedals and on long trips wears the driver out from fighting the vehicle. Own a 2005 Taurus that made me a repeat buyer but this will be my last Ford and Toyota, Hyundai as well as some other car companies are just too problematic to ever purchase again due to all the new trans and steering problems combined with the poor craftsmanship make older vehicle look so good now.
