2016 Ford Fusion with 13K miles (rented from Enterprise) stalled on major highway (CT-15). Check engine light (little wrench symbol) came on and car shook and lost power. We were fortunate to make it to shoulder from the passing lane. (Thank you, thank you, thank you to the alert and careful driver in the right lane!!) It could have been a lot worse had the car stalled later, like on the Bronx expressway where we were headed. I am so glad that this Fusion not my car! After a long and out-of-the-way tow truck ride, we traded the Fusion for a new car and we were on our way again.
I am in the process of taken the car to the service dept, the car was brand new and this incident has occurred about three different times and it is a little nerve wrecking. when the steering wheel is turned and i attempt to reverse the car jumps and stutters and it feels like the wheel wants to fall off or i ran over something.
