I took my vehicle to spradley Ford dealership for service regarding recalls 16S42 and 18S24. The dealership reports resolving 16S42 by servicing the seat belt tensioners. The dealership refused to address recall 18S24 because I did not have the charging cable inside the vehicle. I spoke with service staff on 3 occasions prior to picking up my vehicle and at no time did they request or inform me to bring the cable to the dealership. The dealership made no effort to replace the cord, thermistor or trunk battery housing as required.

Car would not start with key in ignition; jumped 12V battery to take to dealer. 12V battery replaced 3/20/18 ($210). On 6/10/2018, again, car would not start. Was told by dealer they didn't know why new battery not working; replaced, 12V again ($0 under warranty). On 7/19/2018, again, vehicle not starting; absolutely no electronic display in dash, therefore, looks to be 12V battery problem, again. This vehicle appears to have a problem w/ ability to maintain 12V battery charged and system inoperable even after new battery replacement.

The drivers side hood latch that has a micro switch to warn if the hood is open to safety latch. My issue is the warning will not shut off. Professionals checked it and cannot solve the problem. It seems to be related to a computer issue ? car was and is is stationary.I read several others with this same problem and received some bad advice, like cutting wires etc.

Initial failure of parking break switch warning light (and switch itself) follow by wire harness failure under dash due to wires rubbing against exposed steel dash frame causing unknown additional issues, including activation of dashboard check engine light. Failures happened over time as wiring became frayed and finally caused a series of short circuits. The wiring harness failure was reported to Ford customer service - case number cas-10375276-L2-W7-J7. No action was taken other than a follow-up email from the dealer's service manager suggesting I hold on to the paperwork in the event of a recall. Note that the mechanic informed the service department that "I've seen this before". the car has about 62,200 miles on it and is only 3 years old. Given the computerized nature of this car, a computer wire harness failure is clearly a safety hazard worth investigation. My guess is that there are several possible simple fixes, including re-routing the wire harness, lining the steel frame with a rubber coating and similar appropriate steps that could be taken.

"stop safely now" error. The drivetrain disengaged preventing drive or reverse from working. On 7/26/14 I drove 1 hour, parked, turned car off and "removed the ignition key" then the interior air conditioning blower/fan turned on full as if the defroster was on. The touch screen lcd remained on as well. Pressing the climate control buttons on either the lcd or the console had no affect. I inserted the key and started the car again several times without change. The interior air conditioner blower/fan continued to run. I wanted to make sure the car would actually drive so I pulled forward out of the parking space when the "stop safely now" light appeared and the drivetrain disengaged preventing drive or reverse from working. Luckily I was able to roll the car back to the parking space safely. I repeated this process several times and every time the drivetrain disengaged within about 3 to 5 seconds preventing any forward or reverse movement. Had this happened on a highway I just drove it could have caused a life threatening accident. Locked and left the car sit for 5 hours. Came back to the car and it worked normally for a 1 hour drive home. Called dealership and scheduled diagnostic. A second issue that may or may not be related occurred after an oil change and replacement of a purge value assembly 1 month ago. The issue that started is the engine engages regardless of the vehicle mode or operation. Even when set to full electric and parked with no accessories running, the motor turns on at a high idle and remains on. A firmware update partially resolved the motor running constantly as now it runs a little more than 50% of the time for no reason and at a high idle. There were no issues during the 10 months prior to needing the purge valve assembly and subsequent issues appearing.

When you go to the car it is total dead, nothing works, can not lock doors. Wait 30 minutes to 2 hours and then when you ge in everthing works. At dealer for the 4th time never gives an error. Two times drove it in after it would not start they hooked it up but no code. Two times had it towed in. The last time car got to dealer still dead. When they started to work on it, it was ok. Again no error code. Ford dealer has the car (11 days so far) working with Ford can not find the problem. When this happens the car unlocks it self before it goes dead.

Engine light went on. Brought car to Ford. Diagnostic testing showed problem to be w/ the fuel system. Since first noted back in October 2013, light would come on multiple times and associated w/ fueling the car w/ gas. Went on Ford's web forum site and have seen other 2013 Fusion owners w/ the same problem. Ford stated they would change the entire fuel system if the light were to come on again. We will bring back the car to Ford next week for service to take care of the problem.
