My vehicle was parked in a secure parking garage at work. I came out from work and noticed a hairline crack in the windshield. I took it to Safelite seeking to have it repaired and was told the entire windshield needed replaced and the windshield was -??thin-?? and -??dangerous-??
I am concerned about the ability of the windshield to protect drivers from road hazards. It appears that almost every stone that is propelled by other vehicles cause a star chip on the windshield and then proceeds to crack. I am afraid this will weaken the windshield and a larger projectile may not be stopped. I was informed that this vehicle has a special windshield to reduce noise. With cost cost of recalibrating the safety systems, no one can afford to replace the windshield evert 10000 miles.
