The engine stalled and won't start came to a slow stop warning lights came on and said "stop safely now". Turn.\nKey on engine may start for 1 second stops and we're not going to drive or any mode
The 2022 Ford Maverick repeatedly experiences complete electrical system failures, including engine shutdown, loss of power steering, brakes, and the electronic parking brake, while driving at highway speeds, resulting in total loss of vehicle control and creating a life-threatening situation for the driver, passengers, and others on the road; prior warning signs included the 12-volt battery not staying charged and intermittent total electrical power loss, and while no warning lamps indicated imminent failure, the issue was reproduced and documented by a dealership that replaced the battery, performed a BCM relearn, and applied a software update, yet the problem persisted, leaving the vehicle undriveable and unsafe, requiring repeated jump-starts, and demonstrating a fundamental defect in the electrical and control systems; the vehicle is currently scheduled for further warranty diagnostics at a second dealership, and because prior warranty repairs failed to correct this repeat, safety-critical, and life-threatening defect, I request immediate manufacturer investigation, full warranty coverage, and evaluation for vehicle replacement under applicable Lemon Law or consumer protection remedies, as the repeated failure places lives at risk and the vehicle cannot be safely operated until fully corrected.
1)After sitting for 2 days the battery was drained or dead. The truck would not start. I jumped the truck and it started up. Every time I park the truck i get a warning that the battery is low and I should drive it to recharge the battery. I drive the truck but it will not recharge. 2) The check engine light comes on. I went to the auto parts and scanned for diagnostics. The scan came back as a fuel tank pressure sensor failure. 3) When I drive the truck it smells as if something is burning. 4) The fuel gage is not showing accurate reading. 5)The fuel door wont open unless I have the truck turned on and then it takes several minutes. 6) After driving on the freeway I came to a stop on the off rap before entering a main street and the truck died.
Vehicle lost all power while driving. This was due to a failure of the hybrid system. Created a dangerous situation as vehicle started coasting without power in neutral.
Loss of forward, propulsion due to a 12 V battery system failure. Repeated and frequent deep sleep mode. Loss of fuel mileage below manufacturer specifications.

My vehicle failed to start due to a now corrected recall issue. When it did not start I attempted to jump start the engine and found that the car is missing its positive jump terminal on the engine so it is impossible to jump the car. It was sent to a dealership for repair but they never corrected the issue. It is still missing.
I was driving along in slow traffic on the highway and lost ALL power to my truck and it just stop. No electrical, no drive. There is a recall for this but apparently it did not include my VIN.
Engine Service warning appeared this morning and the vehicle immediately lost power to a maximum of 20 mph. The same thing happened approximately 2.5 months ago. A Ford dealership technician checked it out could not find an issue and cancelled the check engine light. Both times this occurred on a busy road and could have led to a potential collision with another vehicle.
Just recently I've noticed that when the engine is running and I'm stopped or parked the truck will "lurch". Almost as if I'm trying to hit the gas while parked or holding the brakes. Since this has started, I've also noticed that from 25mph to 60/65mph there is a violent vibration ONLY under acceleration (20-25% on the power meter) while the engine is running. Issue worsens depending on the mode the truck is in (worse under sport, better under ECO/Slippery). Whole truck will shake, body, steering wheel and all. Not sure if these two issues are related? I'm not sure if these are considered to be powertrain or if it's the engine. Not sure if I could have it inspected upon request because I can't pin point any mechanical abnormalities visually. I feel my safety and others may be a concern because the unknown of the issue. I'm not sure if the vehicle is breaking down, will break down, lose power or whatever the case may be. The vehicle has been reported to Ford for these issues with no resolve. No warning lamps or messages. The issue appeared to come out of no where. Wasn't doing it one day, began doing it the next.
The engine will want to surge forward in a "pulsing" feel while stopped at a red light. No amount of braking force will keep the Ford Maverick from trying to lurch forward. It feels like someone is gently "pushing you from behind telling you to go..." This seems to happen when the engine is cold. Its done this since day one of ownership and it has now been nearly 3 years with no fix.
Issue: Shift SYS Fault, DTC P07E6 System: Transmission Description: Emergency parking brake failed to disengage (solenoid could be heard attempting to move), as a result the transmission would not shift out of park. Check engine light and multiple codes/warnings illuminated on dash. Vehicle could not be moved or shifted into neutral. Waited 10-15 minutes before 2nd attempt, parking brake still failed to disengage. Then waited for 3 hours for third attempt, at which point emergency brake successfully disengaged. Check engine light no longer lit and no codes/warnings present on dash. Nothing changed or was done to the truck between the 2nd and 3rd attempt. Reproduction: Will drop off at dealer for confirmation in coming weeks. Warnings: Engine check light, Shift SYS fault, DTC P07E6, See dealership -> all illuminated after parking brake attempted to disengage during 1st and 2nd attempt.
My vehicle completely shutdown while we were driving on interstate 15 doing 77 mph. When everything shut off we had no brakes and no way to put the hazards on. It-??s literally died while we were driving 77 mph.
Vehicle has had a Powertrain failure three times in a month. This causes the vehicle to look up and lose power. Dealers can not figure it out and Ford has not provided any solutions. Been without vehicle for 6 weeks at this point. Malfunction causes all systems to fault and vehicle seizes up making it undriveable.
I was driving for about 10 minutes at speed 35 mph then noticed the car is in electric mode but unable to accelerate. It feels nothing happened when I depressed the gas pedal. The car came to a complete stop at traffic light but failed to accelerate when I pressed on the gas pedal. I turned off the car and started it back up and everything return to normal.
I have a 22 hybrid maverick with ~ 27,000. I was driving back home from out of town and I had already driven for a good two and a half hours. I was passing an 18 wheeler when suddenly my whole truck turned off. The dash, infotainment screen all black. I tried to turn on the hazards but nothing came on. The steering wheel was stiff and I was pressing the brakes as hard as I could but we were barely slowing down. I coasted across the right lane and into the shoulder/grass and finally came to a stop. I turned the truck off and on and a whole bunch of warnings and lights popped up. I turned it off again and when I turned it back on it was like everything was back to normal. I drove the rest of the way home ~ 50 mph. The truck felt awkward when switching from gas to electric and shook a bit when coming to stops. I will be calling the service dept tomorrow.
Engine lost power while driving. Could not go past 30mph after. Warning lights showed on dashboard of the engine and a wrench. Servce Engine soon warning also showed. This is the 2nd time happening. And this is the 2nd time to the dealership. They couldn't find the problem and gave it back to me.
On June 13th 2024 my Maverick suddenly lost power and all lights on dashboard lit up. Apparently this has been documented by others, and vehicle then went into LIMP MODE and was not responding to accelator pedal properly and would not move beyond 30mph. Engine light is still on, and my Ford App shows 3 messages: 1. SERVICE ENGINE SOON 2. POWERTRAIN SYSTEM FAILURE 3. COLLISION AVOIDANCE UNAVAILABLE
Lost engine power while driving. Only had electric power and could not accelerate to get out of the way of traffic. Able to use hazard lights and coast to safety. Turned off everything and turn on again, only to go a block and it did it again. Service engine alert came on.
Friday 6/7 I was driving my 2022 Ford Maverick at night and suddenly with no warning the dash went dark, there was a grinding noise and the truck completely shut down - engine, electrical, lights, everything. Luckily, I was on a residential street and was able to get it off the road because the flashers would not work. My safety was definitely put at risk - I was in a totally disabled truck on the side of the road after dark with no working lights of any kind, including emergency flashers. There were no warning lights in the truck prior to shut down, and no messages received via FordPass at that time - the Ford app actually showed all systems as "good". I had the truck towed to the Ford dealer that same night. Saturday morning 6/8 I received a message via the Ford App "Remote features disabled to preserve battery". Monday morning 6/10 I received a message via the Ford App "Service Engine Soon Warning". All while the truck is sitting in the dealer service lot. Background - Another ongoing issue - 3 times in the last month - May 3, May 8, and the morning of June 7th - I've been stranded and had to call AAA to come and jumpstart the truck - all 3 instances I was running errands, would shut the truck off to run in a store only to come out and the truck is totally dead. When it happened on May 8th, I received a warning via the Ford App "Service Engine Soon Warning" and took it into the Ford Service center on May 9th.
