The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving approximately 50-70 MPH, the vehicle shook violently while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the front CV axles were replaced under warranty. However, three months after the CV axle repair, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the CV axles were on backorder. The manufacturer was later notified of the failure and the contact was informed that parts were available; however, the part was no longer covered under warranty. The contact was provided an estimate to cover half the cost of the repair. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
I have a 2022 ford maverick pickup truck and have a vibration in steeling wheel at acceleration so I took it to a very reapable tire, brake and suspension dealer who checked the brakes, tires, balance, steering joints etc and found nothing wrong and said he had no clue what it could be and no Ford Recall issued but web sites show other customers with same problem and dealers are not wanting to completely check out because of no Recall please help us!!!
My truck shakes like a bad washing machine with an uneven load at 50mph+ only while accelerating. While turning it squeals. I have a hybrid and have not done any off-roading. All my miles are from highway or city driving.

Vehicle shakes and vibrates at speeds 55 to 65 or under rapid acceleration. Took it into Ford dealership and charged with a wheel alignment. Didn-??t change the situation. Noticed on Facebook Maverick group about cv axles wearing. Told this was the issue. Ford does not have replacements and still waiting since October 2024 for repairs to be made. Still not repaired and not sure if what to do if I-??m still driving the vehicle.
severe vibration when accelerating and/or going up a hill. As of now my safety has not been at risk, unless you count being scared out of my mind (just turned 76). How do I know it will not fail trying to avoid crazy/careless drivers! The cv axel has been back ordered since Oct 3th 2024. I don't understand why it could take so long for a new part to come in. This has been going on for at least 4 months, I thought it had something to do with tires which I got 4 new tires and the problem continued.
Like many others with the Ford Maverick I started experiencing shaking of the truck on the highway which progressively got worse. Upon check it was 2 bad CV axles which seems to be go bad prematurely. This was at around 20,000. The truck has about 37,000 now and it is starting to happen again slowly which I am sure in the next 5000-10000 It will get worse and worse. How many more complaints from owners will Ford make a replacement part that is up to par with quality and not replace it every 20,000? This is dangerous.
At approximately 41k miles driven, and upon accelerating and at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and shimmy. Some days the shimmy is slight, other days it was severe. Only happens with the gas pedal pressed. Resolves when gas pedal is not engaged. Took to dealer 8.26.2024 and confirmed CV Joint failure. TBD on warranty repair in the next few days. Since it is common knowledge that CV Joints should last 80k-100k miles, this is not acceptable and a danger to passenger, driver, and others on the road. Also, there is marked chatter among Maverick owners via online forums who are also encountering early failure of the CV Joints. Thank you for your prompt investigation into this dangerous situation and important safety matter.
For now nothing happens but im frustrating about recalls and my dealership is finding the -??braking-??? problems, the maker me unsafe also by 02/06/23 check -??ENGINE LIGHT-???comes on. And they gave me appointment in 42 hours. And also my maverick has a lot oil comes out front oil filter, that's my dealer unprofessional services.
About two weeks after first buying the car I noticed that when breaking the pedal requires inconsistent extra pressure at times to stop the car. Also while breaking and coming to a slow downhill stop the front end makes an odd clunk sound while jerking to a stop. These things only happen very infrequently, so when I took it to the Hansel Ford dealership (in Santa Rosa, Ca.) they could not repeat the sound or breaking effect. The first time I heard the noise I thought I hit something. I feel that the inconsistent breaking could pose a safety issue, making it harder to stop, and potentially causing a collision. I called Ford consumer assistance, they gave me case # [XXX], and asked me to return it to the dealer. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
