This will be the THIRD thermostat housing to be replaced. My car was taken by trailer to my brother for safe keeping just before Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Rockport, TX in Aug, 2017. Due to the damage done to our house, I was not able to go bring it home until 9/23/18. Everything appeared fine with until about 2 hrs away from my brother's house, when the car suddenly lost power, shut down & the dash lit up. I was not happy, just glad that we had driven up in my husband's truck, so I wasn't stuck in the middle of no where.
We had a wrecker pick it up & bring it to a mechanic I trust in Rockport - a 2 1/2 hr trip which by the way wasn't cheap. I thought the thermostat housing might be the problem, and the mechanic said it is-AGAIN!. This part has a lifetime warranty. What I want to know is what idiot puts a plastic part on an engine? And thought this was a great design?
We haven't gotten the car back yet, because they said the engine is running rough & they want to check it out. This car has been pampered since the day I got it. It better not have any thing wrong with that engine because of this stupid part.
