Started car on a Monday morning for my short commute to school, and had trouble accelerating in every gear. The entire car was shaking and throttle response was iffy at best. Started the car later that afternoon, is driving fine as normal for about 15 minutes until i come to a red light, then the entire car is now shaking at idle and accelerating poorly in every gear. Two weeks prior, I was doing a bit of spirited driving (as a mustang owner would be expected to do) and got a flashing check engine light. A quick google search told me this indicated a misfiring cylinder. Drove home and ignored it until this problem surfaced. Started the mustang Tuesday morning, greeted with the same shaking, now accompanied with white smoke and the slight smell of burning fuel. Brought it to the dealership later Tuesday and told of all my issues. I've received the car back now on Friday, and only an ignition coil has been replaced under bumper to bumper extended warranty. Ford wants $600 to replace a spark plug and coil pack, claiming it as a "normal wear item" not under warranty. Took the girlfriend shopping and greeted by a touch of white smoke again. Will be getting rid of this car soon.

Sometimes shakes while it is idle. I mentioned it at the ford service center while I was getting my oil changed but they said they couldn't detect an issue and since it wasn't happening while it was in the shop, they wouldn't be able to figure it out.

I Leased My 2006 Ford Mustang New from Our Local Dealership. ALL Maintenance has always been done through their Service Dept. I never had an issue until my Lease was up and decided to finally "PURCHASE" the vehicle. Upon signing the papers three weeks later I started to have a transmission leak. Luckily this was covered under warranty...and thank goodness because that was one of THREE Visits to the dealership to "Fix" the Transmission. They debated that it was a different leak each time...but still covered it under my extended warranty.

Then last month I start having a problem with the car "Shaking" while I was sitting idling at a light or stop sign...I immediately took it in to the dealership who then told me I needed the "throttle body" changed, which is covered under warranty so it would be just the $100 deductible. Okay. They had my car 5 days, I picked it back up on a Thursday Night and by Friday at 5pm it was doing the SAME THING!!! I immediately took it back in and the car sat for approximately 4 days before anyone got to it...then they said they couldn't duplicate the issue and it was probably just a one-time thing. I picked up the car on Friday evening and drove it that weekend. Monday I still had a feeling the idle was too low so my brother and dad suggested we change the fuel filter. Done. Two days after it was worse than ever, I was at a light and it shook so hard and felt like it would die, when I stepped on the gas it took a minute before it would go. So we took it back into the dealership who is now saying it is the "IGNITION COIL" and that the repair will cost approximately $400 because it's not covered under warranty, although the extended warranty says "all electrical...except spark plugs"!?! I did some research on this part and it costs about $70-100 bucks...This is my 2nd Mustang, My first a Brand New 1999 (which Ironically had the SAME type of problems after 3 years) and now my 2006 is having them after 4 years....I'm beginning to think Ford can't make a Quality Built Mustang...!!!
