I live in one of the most humid climates in the USA South FLORIDA and I never received the air bag replacement recall.

it's has been almost 2 years and they just keep making new cars but do not fix the ones with defective airbags the gov should step in but we all know about our fabulous gov. they could care less and it's only going to get worse so I just hope that I am not in a crash bad enuff to set the airbag off. Now today I see that there is another recall about door latches, real neat now in a crash if the airbag explosion does not kill me the door opens and i fall out. no way to win

I have been waiting for over a year (since July 2015) to send my 2014 Mustang to Ford so that they can replace the defective airbag which, according to the recall letter they sent out over a year ago, can cause severe injury or death. At first the company was proactive in communicating with me when my part would be ready for replacement. I went to the dealership on July 2016, and after waiting between 30 min - 1 hr, they claimed that they had the part for the wrong model, 2005/2006. After that, Ford stopped sending me notifications/status updates about my part and when it would be ready. When I called earlier this year around February and asked what the delay was, they said that they had received defective airbags and had to send them back. Therefore, they would probably receive the correct parts this past March or April. The rep did not sound confident at all about this ETA. It is May and I still have not received any communication from the dealership about when I can bring my car in for the replacement. I am very unhappy with this service - they have been making it very clear at the LA dealership in Airport Marina and the one in Temecula, CA, that they do not care about what happens to their customers. They have not taken a proactive approach to solve this issue and they seem like they do not want to take responsibility.

WE HAVE BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERS. ACCORDING TO THEM, THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS VIN NUMBER. WE ALSO RECEIVED AN OFFER TO TRADE THE 2014 FOR A NEW MUSTANG. OFFER WAS $2,000 OFF OF THE PRICE OF A NEW MUSTANG AND THE PAYMENTS WOULD BE KEPT THE SAME OR LOWER THAN THE CURRENT PAYMENT. i HAVE PUT A NICE DOWN PAYMENT ON IT AND HAVE BEEN PAYING ON IT FOR TWO YEARS. I DO NOT THINK THEIR OFFER WAS ANYWHERE CLOSE TO BEING REASONABLE. THEY NEED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE AND GET THE AIR BAGS REPLACED. THEY HAVE PLENTY AIR BAGS TO PUT IN THE NEW CARS. IT'S LIKE WE DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR CUSTOMERS. I FOR ONE DO NOT INTEND TO BUY ANOTHER FORD UNTIL MY MUSTANG IS FIXED. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER, BUT THIS I HAVE TO QUESTION.

I purchased a Ford Shelby GT 500 in the fist quarter of 2014 and Ford knew at the time of the sale a "DEFECTIVE" Takata airbag was installed in the car but failed to disclose the fact until after delivery. Supposedly a recall letter was issued but never received. For almost 3 years, I drove an unsafe vehicle which could cause death if an accident occurred; even a small collision could activate the airbag with deadly effects.

Does it really take three years to make a replacement airbag that will NOT kill the occupants with shrapnel? Considering the current situation, Ford should have made every effort to fix the problems they knew were present when the vehicle was sold.

America has a Consumer Protection Agency that should be involved in making sure these airbags do not cause another injury and especially avoid another fatality.

This is the 4th Ford vehicle I have purchased over the last 15 years but I can guarantee this is my last.

I received recall letter from Ford Motor Company informing me that there is a recall on my 2014 mustang since 7/15/15 involving a mechanical issue with the airbag. The airbag inflator housing may rupture in a crash. Safety Recall Notice 15S21/ NHTSA Recall 15V-319. Problem 1 - the newly designed part is EXPECTED to become available in the 4th quarter of 2016. Problem 2 - purchased car for 17 year old, now car is sitting. Not to forget the endangerment prior. Problem 3 - I purchased used vehicle 11/18/15, four months after recall from Sunrise Ford in Fontana, California and the dealer did not disclose this information. No way I would put my teenager in this type of danger. When I notified the dealer, I was told that they did not know about the recall and that it is a Ford Motor Company Problem. Send letter to Ford Motor Company and they tell me it is the dealership's problem. Meanwhile, I have a vehicle that an airbag inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. This vehicle should never have been placed on the road nor sold after the initial recall.

Unlike other manufacturers - Ford has delayed fixing this problem since the June 2015 recall notice I received. Recall list only publish 2004-2014 Mustangs. Ford - nor anyone else will tell the public what airbag deployment systems are in the 2015-2017 vehicles. In communication with Ford thru RCSM they deflect to State Lemon Laws which they say I'm ineligble for buyback because my car is a CPO. Ford certified this vehicle early in 2014 before I purchased it. If they knew it had a Takata airbag system they broke Federal Laws selling me this vehicle.

This is from Safercar.gov;

How are problems with recalled vehicles or equipment remedied?

Once a safety-defect determination is made, the law gives the manufacturer three options for correcting the defect – repair, replacement, or refund. In the case of a vehicle recall, the manufacturer may choose to repair the vehicle at no charge; replace the vehicle with an identical or similar vehicle; or refund the purchase price in full, minus a reasonable allowance for depreciation. In the case of equipment, including tires and child safety seats, the manufacturer may either repair or replace the affected equipment at no charge to the consumer.

Is Ford going to be the next GM? How many will die this year while Ford refuse to act.? The question really is when did Ford know the Takata airbags in my car could kill me?

Received letter stating that front driver side air bag inflator housing may rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver side frontal airbag which also states that inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. Called Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills service and was told that they do not have a timeline for when the parts may be available. So, I understand that this keyword "could" result in injury or death, but was told it was ok for me to drive my car as long as the airbag light is not on? I guess they want me to gamble on finding out if my airbag will send fragments in the event of a crash?

Received a recall for the driver's side air bag in July 2015. It is December 2015 and there are still no parts available for replacement. This is definitely annoying because I am almost afraid to drive the car. Paid a lot of money for the vehicle and bought it to drive!!! If I was to get in an accident and the air bag deploys the injuries can be very serious, but Ford really does not seem concerned. It was recalled for safety, fix it FORD!!!!!
