Car couldn't tell the doors were closed had just removed the overhead light for the longest time. ended up getting annoyed by having to look around the car at night with a lighter so i Google'd it and some one suggested to spray WD-40 in the door latch. Works Perfectly now,

Ranger EXT 4.0L V6

i just want to know how to fix it...or at least whats causing it so my boyfriend can fix it. I may be trying to sell the thing soon and i cant sell it if no one can drive it at night when the light sticks on. Right now im stuck at the library because i drove here and it wouldn't turn off, well now its dark and i have a taillight out too. so i cant drive it home. Im leaving it here and ill get it in the morning. it's just such an inconvenience! I wanna know how to fix it before i get too angry and just rip it out to turn it off! it only turns off about 45 minutes after i shut the doors and go inside. ugh...
