The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving 50 mph, the engine stalled and the vehicle coasted to a stop on the road shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (town East Ford, 18411 lyndon B johnson fwy, mesquite, tx 75150, (972) 584-9140) where the fuel pump modular and relay were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Taurus 6-cyl

  • 66,000 miles
Vehicle stalls and high speeds and goes into "limp mode" where vehicle loses all power and acceleration. Vehicle immediately begins to decelerate in traffic causing a very dangerous and hazardous situation for the driver and other vehicles. This has now happened 8 times in my Taurus 5 of which was in the interstate in excess of 70mph. Consumer stated issue was not related to the fuel pump, issue was caused by the faulty throttle body. Warranty did not cover the part and consumer ended up paying out of pocket for the repair. Updated 7/25/18
