My vehicle engine stopped running in traffic and would not restart. I had the vehicle towed to my usual service shop. The reason the car stopped and would not restart was diagnosed as a failure of the fuel pump electric module (Ford part GA8Z 9D370 A). My service shop was advised by the Ford parts dealer that there was a recall (# 16V621000) in 2016 for that part. I contacted Ford and was advised that my vehicle VIN was not part of that recall. Do not know why. Certainly, a vehicle that stops running in traffic creates a safety hazard to that vehicle and other vehicle on the road.

The contact notified the manufacturer who informed him that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer offered no further assistance. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
