This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Ford has issued recall 24V226 for apparent tire rub on the Transit Trail package almost two months ago and has since given no information on timeline for this recall. This issue seems to be contingent on a "perfect storm" of variables and therefore seems to pose much less of a safety risk than stated. Many owners online report no tire rub even during aggressive offroad driving. Regardless, the agreed upon preventative fix is very well documented within the Transit community and has been performed by countless van owners in the past, myself included. This potential issue should have been blatant well before production started on these models, but now that we're here, it seems Ford is dragging their feet to publish what should be a very quick and straightforward fix which is holding up many already purchased vans from being released from dealerships. I worry that the low volume of Transit Trails means the resolution of this recall is seen as low priority and will drag on for months to come.
