axle broke

I was driving with my two friends and their kids when my rear axle broke, and we did about two 360's then finally came to a stop when I got out I noticed that the rear axle was rusted and cracked, we are lucky no one got hurt.

Our rear axle broke in half in the same place as all the other axles broke in the 3 recalls. We are in KS and have a lot of salt on our roads also, but were not INCLUDED in the recall area. We have the same year, model, and problem as the 3 recalls, but Ford says our VIN number is not included in the recall. The Ford dealer wants us to have it towed in to look at, and charge $99 diagnostic fee, and over $1,000 to repair, and they will send a report to Ford, who will say the VIN is not included in the recall.

Ford should have sent us a recall on this and did not. By the grace of God, we were going very slow when it broke, or there would have been extensive other damage. The next morning after it broke, I would have been driving 70 mph to work and could have been killed or killed someone else, or we could have had children in the van with us. I shudder to think what could have happened.

I have lost trust and faith in Ford. They should step up and do the right thing.
