Windstar SE 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Not the first problem I have had with this Van. At the end of last summer the AC slowly stopped pumping out cold air. Since I am on an island and leave my van on the mainland, I didn't worry about it. From all I've read it's the actuator. I'll be taking it to the Ford Dealer to have it repaired.

This is not the only problem with it. I have flashing interior lights, passenger window won't go down, door open light goes on, right mirror turn signal light goes on, it sounds as if the back locks are locking and unlocking and it's making a ding, ding noise as if the driver's door is open and you have the keys in the ignition. The van has only 66,000 miles on it. It has many amenities and I really have enjoyed it. I was planning on keeping it as long as I could, but with these problems and probably more to come, I may be shopping for a newer vehicle.

Windstar SEL 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

No A/C, just stopped working, makes a funny noise when running fan. Looked into fixing this and the ford dealer quoted me $1000 to fix the front and $1000 to fix the rear. It wouldn't be so bad if the windows would roll down, but that's another complaint. Why can't they make parts that last to at least 100000 miles?

Windstar LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 138,000 miles

Had the front & rear AC repaired at 99,000 miles and then by 135,000 the rear air doesn't work. Thankfully it was still under extended warranty at that time, but now it's out of warranty and I can only imagine what it's going to cost to fix it.
