This vehicle was from MA and had been outfitted for handicap transport. The floor was dropped a few inches and the automated door extension was attached to the area around the wheel-well. The door will no longer open and close because of the rusted out parts. No body shop will fix it. Ford refuses to do anything (even if I pay for it) and the door/ramp cannot be made operational. I will have to leave the door open and use the ramp as a partial door in order to transport my wheel-chair bound husband to doctors. I have owned several Fords, but will NEVER buy another.

Windstar LX 3.8L V6

I was driving my 2003 ford windstar on saturday june 19,2010 and as i was driving all of a sudden my vehicle started to make a funny noise and i had no control over the vehicle.I stepped on the brakes and got the vehicle to stop fortunately i was only going about 20-25 miles per hour,i put the vehicle in park got out and my front drivers side tire was turned slightly to the left and my passengers front tire was turned way out to the right. I called a towing company to pick up the vehicle and take it back to his repair shop, looking at the vehicle it was determined that the frame that holds the front end together rotted out.

The mechanic called a ford dealership on monday and they said that they had heard of this happening and that ford would do nothing about it. I called ford motor corp. and spoke with them and got the same result,we will put it on file and if a recall comes up later on save yuor receipts and you will get reimbursed for it. I guess somebody has to die from this defect before ford will do something about the problem. If this is one of fords better ideas i guess that i will have to buy toyotas from now on at least they are stepping up to the plate and are taking care of their problems. I am also going to register a complaint with the attorney generals office here im massachusetts and send an e-mail to susan worneck at channel 5 news i am sure she will love to sink her teeth into this one.

Shame on you ford motor corp. I guess the new motto should be buy foriegn. To all those 2003 ford windstar owners out there if you value your life get your vehicle checked out because ford does not care.
