The consumer complained about a power steering problems. There was a constant squeak in the steering even while the vehicle was parked. She said there was a popping noise while turning right or left. The consumer also heard the popping noise while going over speed bumps. The squeaking noise began as soon as the vehicle started. The service dealer replaced the power steering belt, power steering gear, a link and bushing, and the drive belt. Also, the dealer adjusted the power steering pulley. This did not remedy the problem, so they replaced the entire power steering pump. However, the problem recurred. The dealer thought it may have been something in the front suspension, so they replaced two stabilizer links. This still did not remedy the problem. Updated 11/29/05.
