I was in an accident and hit a fence and then a power pole. The impact pushed the power pole about a foot and my engine was pushed into the interior. The airbag did not deploy. At this impact should the airbag have deployed?

Takata recall: In July 2016 I received a letter from GMC ref. GM recall 49152 which stated that I would be notified when parts are available to remedy your vehicle. I never received anything and in the meantime the airbag light came on. In the summer of this year I called the local dealership and they set up an appointment to replace the airbag because of the recall. I had to cancel that appointment because I could not make it to the appointment. I later called the dealership to setup another appointment and this time was told that GMC was not going to fix/replace the airbag. I already spent over $1200 to replace the front brake components because of extensive rust which damaged the front brake system to the extent the wheels would no longer rotate without great effort. This truck was originally owned by someone in pa, then on the eastern shore of Maryland thru May 2016. There is a lot of rust on the undercarriage of this vehicle - from I assume, salt and water.

Takata recall contacted jim curly dealer and they refuse to replace the air bags because they said it was still an open recall. So they are not being replaced at our risk to injury.
Have been waiting for almost 1 and half years for a fix for the air bags. Check with dealer regularly, still no fix. Still driving the truck but still worry every time I do. If I sell it be worth less and someone else would have same problem
Dashboard cracked in two places. The passenger side cracked on the portion covering the passenger air bag. I am worried that if inflated, the plastic shards will impale any passenger. Also the dashboard cracked on the driver side above the instrument cluster. It is beginning to cave it.

I have contacted my dealer and they continue to state they do not have the replacement parts. This has been going on since the first official notice came out.

I've received multiple recall notices over the past two years and have gone in to the local GMC dealer as directed. Last visit 11/03/2017. They don't have the parts and can't help in any way. GM takes no responsibility and blames takata. Now with takata's bankruptcy the consumer is screwed!
"takata recall" checked today with wilson county motors in lebanon, tn and they still have no remedy for replacing airbags for this vehicle. What are my options?
"takata recall" recall 49152. I have been in contact, several times, w/ GMC about the recall since receiving the letter in early 2016. Whereas we have yet to experience any issues with the truck, it is approaching 10 years old and we are afraid it is only a matter of time. We dont want to drive it for fear of rupture. Today we were told that a decision is to be made by the end of Dec. 2017 that may relieve GMC of this burden altogether which we find completely unsatisfactory. We would like this replaced as it is the right and safe thing to do & at GMC's expense. Is there anything we can do besides sale/trade it in, only to pass the problem on to someone else? thank you
Takata recall. I received notice of the recall June 2016. The recall has yet to be fixed. I have called the dealership twice, timbrook GMC, cumberland, Maryland, and they advise they have not received the parts to make the repairs.
Takata recall: There was an indication on the takata site that the truck should be taken in for a replacement of airbags, but according to the GM dealer there was no fix at this time and the vehicle was deemed safe to drive by GM.
