Takata recall I see my truck has a safety recall, but there is no resolution. This does not make me feel like it is very safe. Please make this company fix the recalled air bags. Nothing has happened yet, why do I have to wait until myself or a family member is hurt or killed to fix a known issue?
Takata recall GM has done nothing to alleviate this problem. At least 10 people have been killed by these defective airbags and thousands more have been injured. It is past time for the NHTSA to get into action and force GM to repair these defects.
When talking with the dealership they stated takata has not come up with a resolution. So there are no airbags for them to install. We received the first notice back in July 2016.
Takata recall in July 2016, I received a letter from GMC stating that my 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 was built with defective takata airbags. I have called crabtree Buick GMC in bristol, va., once in 2016 and again in summer of 2017 and parts aren't available at this time for installation. I would seriously like to have the newer, safer airbag inflators installed asap!!
Takata recall. Was checked by dealership over 6 months ago and everyday I drive this vehicle with these air bags puts my family at risk. I was told these parts were ordered to fix my vehicle but have not heard anything else. I'm very worried that at any moment these air bags could go off.

Upper dashboard cracked along airbag location on passenger side - top left corner of air bag. Car was parked, crack was just there when I entered the vehicle one morning...not just once but twice. Apparently the dashboard cracks just after the third year and re-occurs with replacement dashboards as well (all dashboards are defective, including the replacements). Note: Exact same crack and location as many others reported on facebook group forum page (07-13 GM cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks).
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. After starting the vehicle, the air bag indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to yates Buick GMC (13845 w test dr, Goodyear, AZ 85338) where it was diagnosed that a crimped wire leading to the air bag had caused a short, and the wire needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated that if the indicator illuminated after the repair, the air bag would also need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they would replace the air bag at a reduced cost. The approximate failure mileage was 58,500.
My dashboard has cracked around the passenger side airbag and on top of the driverside dash. I am afraid that the cracks around the airbag are a safety hazard for my family. Both cracks are growing rapidly. Vehicle has less than 44,000 miles and is in excellent condition.

Takata recall - NHTSA recall #16V381 called the GM customer assistance center toll-free line in July 2016, they recommended me to take my vehicle to the nearest GMC dealer. Took my truck to powell watson GMC dealer in Laredo, Texas on July 2016 and they informed me that GM had not yet figured out a replacement part and that a replacement part was not available at the time. Again on Jan 2, 2017, I took my truck to the same dealer for the same issue and they responded to me that there was no cure for the safety air bag issue that my truck was being brought in. The GMC dealer was not giving me eta on the replacement part. And the safety concern was not being resolved.
