So after 150k miles My lifters and cam need to be replaced! Come to find out from several dealers and other people that own this type of vehicle, this is a common problem after 100k. Is it me or has the quality control of foreign based USA vehicles gone down the pipes?! I'm really considering going to Ford. I never had these issue with any Ford I owned especially at these miles.

Why hasn't the manufacturer recalled this garbage motor? And get rid of the garbage AFM system. NHTSA needs to pull their heads out of their butts and get their hand out of EPA's pockets. Not only are your requirements ridiculous, but you are making it difficult for rescue workers to keep up with the modifications to vehicles that manufacturers have to meet by your ridiculous regulations!!!! NHTSA is the biggest culprit to all this crap.

Manufacturers can't keep a production motor in service long enough to work out the bugs because of your crap unrealistic standards. I'm an advanced extrication instructor and level 1 IFSAC fire instructor in the state of NC and I know exactly who's to blame for the garbage being put out today.(NHTSA) I encourage everyone to go to their website to see the bullshit that they expect car manufacturers to meet by certain years. It's mind blowing and reckless if you ask me.

YOU'RE CAUSING PRICES TO GO UP AND POOR QUALITY VEHICLES TO COME OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE DUE TO THE CONSTANT NEED TO PROGRESS TECHNOLOGY TOO FAST. ALSO IT MAKES THE FIRE SERVICE HAVE TO SPEND MILLIONS AS A WHOLE TO UPGRADE EQUIPMENT TO KEEP UP WITH THE NEW STEELS IN VEHICLES. STOP IT YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!

Lifter on engine was wearing on cam shaft, just under 60,000 miles fixed on warranty in 2014,2015 transmission cratered,no warranty. $3200.00, brakes master cylinders leaking $1000.00. Now 2016 using oil, ticking again, what now? This truck has easy miles all highway also rust spots all over told it is rail dust. Had several acid washes trying to get rid of them. We have had to spend a lot of money on this vehicle now issues are starting again. What a lemon!!!!!!! We are between a rock and hard place, pay a lot of money for a vehicle expect more from vehicle and manufacturer to produce a reliable safe vehicle.

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,000 miles

after 6,000 miles had new lifters put in, noise went away then started back. took to dealer was a joke. i went out with 3 managers, started it, made the noise and they said it's normal. a new truck shouldn't make a knocking noise then go away. i said let's start a truck in the parking lot and they didn't say nothing!! I'm going to take back when colder out when its really loud. They jump through hoops to get you to buy but when there's a problem there they don't help.
