The spare tire fell off my GMC Sonoma while I was driving it. The cable in the spare tire hoist rusted into.

I was sitting with my son on the tailgate of my GMC Sonoma and both tailgate cables broke causing us to fall to the ground. I bruised my back but did not seek medical attention. After several calls to GMC, I was told that there was a recall but they have never contacted me since the date of the incident.
