2016 GMC Terrain SLT with 3.6L engine. Will show the Check Engine, Traction Control and Service Stabilitrac lights after gauges jump up and down. Vehicle will sometimes loose power and go into limp mode. So far the Stabilitrac will reset after shutting off motor and restarting which allows normal driving. The garage had it for about 3.5 weeks trying to diagnose what the problems are. It did repeat the same issues while they had it and recommended replacing the computer, which we did. We had it a few days then took it back again because the Check Engine and Stabilitrac lights came on. They checked and cleaned the wiring connection near the Left Rear tire which had some debris in it. (This connection is known issue).

After which the Stabilitrac light cleared itself. We had it a few more days and the same exact things happen again with it going into limp mode. Took it back to the shop so they could check the error codes which it had the exact same ones as before indicating it was the computer...which we have already replaced. When checking the codes, the computer says we had been traveling at 158 MPH. Of course we never had driven any where close to that speed. The shop recommended we take it to a Chevy dealer's shop. We've been taking it to Mechanic's Pride in the Spokane Valley who have been really great! Car currently has 72,200 miles on it.

Update from Oct 17, 2021: After the shop having the vehicle for several more weeks and working on it as they were able, turns out that parts in the transmission failed. The failed parts were creating small metal filings that interfered with the transmission sensor. So we had to do a rebuild on the transmission and the vehicle has been working fine since. The Chevrolet shop and GMC split the cost with us which was great! Out of pocket for the rebuild was $2831. Diagnostics was $296. Replacement of PCM and programing was $721. Our total cost was 3848. Total cost would have been $6461.
